I have wanted an old fashioned style hourglass similar to this one for years. I finally broke down and bought this one as a splurge and a gift for myself to be used on my desk. I have to be honest in this review that I have not timed the accuracy of this unit and I don't really know how long the sand flows through it. I can say that I regularly use this when I am working at my desk to regulate my time between breaks, and it goes for a long time. It's also fun to watch the sand flow through it and pile up in the bottom section before flipping it again. The build quality seems decent, but I do wonder if it may start to fall apart over a long time with regular use. I would imagine if it does, that it would be easily repaired with wood glue. I have not found any flaws with this product, and I highly recommend it for decoration and as a neat way to pace yourself when you are working at your desk.

I ordered this as bookshelf decor to go next to my Lords series and it is perfect!

Bought this for a holiday gift for my friend. He's gotten a lot of use out of it, from simple mediation to just timing his tasks. He said the time is accurate, it's easy to use and even after dropping it on the floor a few times it's held up good and seems to be quality made.
