Make sure this is screwed down onto a base board.
A decent little press that worked well with scratted apples. Two problems, one of my own doing, second was not to have this fastened down securely on a larger base board or even held so that it could not turn.First of all I assembled this and tried it out, but forgot to add the silicon washer which aides in the handle turning easily against the press. Silly thing to do, but valuable lesson.Second was the inevitable stage where you really need to compress the pulp to get the juice out. The whole thing started to turn, which I stopped from doing by placing my feet at strategic positions, belatedly realising this really does need something to clamp onto, even if it is temporary. All in all a decent little press that can extract fruit juice fairly efficiently.

Did a good job in pressing my grapes!
I had 20kg of grapes which was about 16L of must that I needed to press. Assembly was easy enough, takes longer than advertised screwing all the panels on and the instructions are barley instructions, once you understand what it is asking it's ok. You will need a drill for the two screws in the pressing plate. Once together it felt nice and sturdy, good weight to it, had drill holes in the feet should you want to secure it to a surface before pressing which is good.My main advice would be to buy or make loads more blocks, the 4 supplied did not increase the height enough for a good press, this meant I had to fill it right to the brim before pressing then rather than emptying it and going again I had the leave the pressed grapes in there and added the new batch on top of it, otherwise the second batch would've filled the press up by about half so unless you have enough blocks to make up more than that other half left it wouldn't press where the handle hits the top of the basket.Overall aside a few small details I was really happy, pressed well, I got a good yield and saved me a lot of work if I was to use a cheese cloth.

Worth all them screws
I pressed about 3 or 4 buckets of pears after mincing them in the food processor. Last year I did this just between two buckets and using my weight, this was soooooo much better. It's not difficult to put it together, but a power screwdriver will certainly be your friend.

Ok but……
It’s a bit cheap to be honest, I needed to cut longer blocks to stop the handle fowling the top of the staves. When the threaded rod was fitted, it was and is offset causing the whole basket to be offset too. This doesn’t give an even press of the fruit to be juiced. Also the main pressing plate in my opinion should be a little larger so that when pressing, the pulp is less likely to squeeze out all over the surface. A bit disappointed to be honest, you get what you pay for. I will buy bulk juice next time, save the hassle and time of cutting the fruit into tiny pieces. Long day for 9lt of juice!

Good value for money
Fairly easy to assemble though takes some time as there are many screws to, well, screw. one of the holes in the slats was too big and consequently did not .... screw, I had to put some match sticks in to plug the hole for the screw to take/bite. other than the small problem the overall product is good value for the pricepoint. I would imagine this press would not take a lot of abuse, slow but sure is the way!
