Best upgrade
Only thing I'd change is external battery packs other then that very pleased with my purchase id buy another if i knew someone for 2players. some software issues with defaulting 1:1 for gba and trying to connect to some skull candy earphones besides software issues I'd say for portable devices everything is there only 2 devices missing 3d s and vi ta, and unless your counting the new steam steamdeck as portable device this things pretty current with portable systems excluding android & ios, since those usually involve pay to pay or other gimmicks involving currency

this thing rocks
The square screen is just wonderful for a device like this. I even cancelled an order for a more powerful device because I am enjoying using this plenty and catching up on old games, and for the first time vertical scrolling games! Two cool features aside from playing retro games are the pico-8 support (you can buy + download the raspberry pi version and install it on the RGB30 and download games through wi-fi and the screen ratio is perfect) and support for something called Portmaster which lets you browse freeware games, some old pc games and such, however, like half I've tried don't work, but even still it's cool to play a few. You've probably already watched videos or read about how people love this, so here's the mediocre qualities that give it 4 stars rather than 5 for me:Any button that isn't the D-pad or 4 face buttons are clicky. I hate that sound during a quiet night. There are some aspects where you may want to go in and do little DIY mods, like the d-pad diagonals can be less squishy by adding tape. and the shoulder buttons can be lined with felt or lubed up with vaseline so they don't "jiggle" (which is really the only thing that makes the device have a "cheap" feel- the plastic clunking about when you move it). So again this isn't a bad thing - I think opening electronics and fiddling with them endears them to you, it's something more people should do. Youtube those mods for examples and be careful.Mine has some screen light bleed which is a little annoying. The battery is finicky. It charges slow as heck, faster charging cables don't work, and sometimes doesn't update the battery level indicator unless you turn the screen off and on. Or it never gets to 100%. It's weird.Get new SD cards, because the cheap ones it comes with will screw you over in odd ways. For example, I ran a system update and had all sorts of problems after, but starting over with fresh brand name SD cards solved everything, and I've been able to update fine. If you don't want to search for games, just copy the contents of the games SD card to a new one.

I’d buy it again
It came with a slew of classic games. Comes with a micro SD card with OS already installed (Linux). It also has a separate SD port for any of your games.

Doesn’t work out the box, very involved set up, no games
Upon receiving the rgb30 I was very excited to unbox, and begin playing, after the initial setup, still no games were available to play, only pico-8 and scummVM and neither will launch from Home Screen. After a one hour update of JELos, still no games showing up. Ordered a replacement. Hopefully it works, they are also over priced. 49$ on alibaba. For 50$ profit the seller must be happy about a product that doesn’t work out of box. If the replacement works then 5stars. We will see.

Great handheld retro gaming option
This decided is actually really great. Handles most of the games quite well especially with some settings tweaked. HDMI output is great but unfortunately my device cannot pair to any Bluetooth controllers. Sadly, that may be a deal breaker for me.

paying for convenience
Cost around 10$ more than if you get it from the powkiddy site, but return are easier and you can select faster shipping here. Products good too but it is NOT touchscreen, dont know why I thought it was but its still worth it

Excellent Device for It's Price
The media could not be loaded. To start off this device is excellent. I've compared it to the likes of the retro devices being sold out in the world and I must say the RG30 is on point. The screen on this device is solid eye candy enough to make your mouth water of joy and light up at the sight of playing so many classic games with a bright beautiful screen presented on the RG30 handheld. The device feels amazingly good on the hands while playing fighting games. It has a nice grip without the device sliding unless you have greasy hands then you'll be fine playing for awhile. I was able to pull off Hadokens just fine without any issue so I believe you can too. I want to go into a bit of detail without typing to much to bore you, but enough to hook you right into making your decision quick and painless when purchasing this device.Screen/Graphics - The quality of the screen is the highlight of this device IMO. The vibrant colors stand out with each game I played compared to other devices. This screen knocks it right out of the park with the perfect size/ratio, contrast and adjustable brightness to ease the eyes.Controls/Gameplay - One thing I wish this device could have changed on were the buttons. I kinda wish they were as smooth as the RG35XX when comparing both. Nonetheless, they do beat the R35S and R36S handhelds buttons with the engraved lettering (not of fan of engraved A,B,X,Y). The response to each button registers quite well. I have not noticed any stick when pressing down or late registration. Did I mention you can connect an external controller of your choosing by Bluetooth if your not a fan of the controls, hut what's not to be a fan off. The d-pad rocks and is great when pulling off moves during fighting games.Games/Performance - What can I say besides its an operating system that is well known to the retro community with the capability of fine tuning and the games geez...so many games it will keep you entertained for some time now. It has more than enough without the need to add any additional games. I love that you can hook it directly by HDMI to your TV or display to continue your gaming quest if you decide close up is not your style. As I may have mention at the start of my review. The build quality is strong with that non slip feel that I believe it can withstand an accidental drop though I do not recommend it. The RG30 handheld is the way to go for those looking to start in the retro world or for those looking to add to their collection. A must own indeed especially on that price point. You will not be disappointed.
