Learn Ballroom Dancing: Teach Yourself

The book is written in a logical way. It is very difficult to learn to dance from a written procedure especially if you are a green learner,almost impossible in fact. The book however is written such that it would work if you study it properly. I am speaking from experience as I am learning to dance and it takes a lot of practice.

Teach Yourself Ballroom Dancing (Teach Yourself General) This is a really good book for me as I want to dance but have no previous experience. It assumes no knowledge. The instructions are precise and it shows with diagrams what is described in the text. It also comes with a CD so I can try out the moves with the right music.As recommended I use the book in parallel with attending group dancing lessons. The book is the place to go to work at my own pace and make sense of what the dance teacher has said.By showing how the dance is made up of small groups of steps I can understand what I am doing, and I can now see the pathway between the simple dances that the book teaches and the routines that are shown on Strictly.

It's good for an introduction into Ballroom dancing but I don't think it beats a proper instructor.

Book is a bit involved for a beginner and sequences are different those learnt in my dance class but it has some interesting facts.

Very helpful to clarify how to do some of the steps. Are managing to improve our ballroom dancing. I would recommend this book.

really enjoyed this book, really helped me get in to the basic of ballroom dancing, would recommed it to anyone interested in taking up the sport
