Excellent motor which packs a punch. I use it for fly fishing on lochs on mainly clinker based rowing boats. The motor together with a 100 Ah leisure battery gets myself and boat partner around the lochs.

Very quiet in use and perfect for gentle cruising. Quite tall so on a small boat the tiller ends up high. The speeds 1-4 give a nice step change from barely moving up to walking pace. Amp draw barely changes between them ranging from 16-23amps. Speed 5 however is more than double speed 4. It try’s to pull over 50 amps, rockets forward and is way over the 500w rating of the motor! Not sure if that is good for it so tend to avoid it in the interest of longevity and battery life but would love more control and variability on the speed. That will take modifications to the speed control mechanism so haven’t done so yet.Main noise is from the water disturbance of the shaft so I 3D printed an areofoil cover and it is now quieter than paddling and great for checking out the wildlife on the river.
