When I tell you that my cats turn into little vicious monsters when I pull these out, I mean it. These are their favorite little treats ever. They are just freeze dried chicken hearts, they weren’t drained of blood so they still had freeze dried/dehydrated blood flakes on the inside and I think that is why they like them so much. It lets them be true carnivores. They are a little big for one kitty so I always cut them in half so they don’t choke on them. Believe me, if you have a gremlin cat that thinks they’ve never been fed, you need to cut these in half. On of mine tried to swallow it whole so the other couldn’t steal it. Cut. Them. Up. But they are incredible quality. They look exactly like the picture. They are thick treats and you can tell they are quality by the smell and color. They look vibrant, they smell like real meat.

I have several packages of Vital Essentials (beef salmon, pork, and chicken) so I thought I’d try the Chicken Hearts. Oh Boy, these were an automatic hit - my Shih Tzu loves them so much she was shaking! Each chicken heart is thick and dense and appears to be of excellent quality. I give her one a day and hold it while she assertively nibbles and bites until she’s finished. By the way she goes for this, it appears to be the best tasting food she’s ever eaten. I’m satisfied she’s getting the best nutrients possible and that it’s great for her gut, skin and coat. I definitely recommend this line and especially the chicken hearts for a healthy treat.

My dog absolutely *loves* these Vital Essentials Chicken Breast treats! As soon as I grab the bag, he gets excited and can’t wait for me to hand one over. The texture is so light and airy — it almost feels like there’s nothing there, but somehow they’re packed with flavor that keeps my dog coming back for more. They’re easy to break into smaller pieces if needed, and they don’t leave a mess or strong smell. These have quickly become his favorite treat, and I feel good knowing they’re just simple, freeze-dried chicken. Definitely a must-have in our house!

Over all these are a nice healthy alternative to big brand cat treats. I was hesitant to try freeze-dried foods because I had heard that cats were often off put by the texture, but gave it a shot anyway and I’m glad I did. She loves these little things and asks for some very time I’m by the cabinet they are in. I’ve got a little treat toy that she has to figure out how to open and before these she was never motivated enough to try but how she’ll empty it in 10 minutes. Will definitely be ordering other foods from this brand.Only con is they seem to have a powdery residue to them and there kind of small but that doesn’t seem to bother her.

One ingredient treats! I have a new puppy and wanted to buy treats that are not filled with all sorts of chemicals so these freeze dried chicken treats were a great pick. I typically use these for training since they’re high quality and my puppy LOVES them. She sees the bag come out and she’s sitting right at my feet ready to learn and so happy when rewarded. These are such great training treats! My dog absolutely loves to do tricks for these. I like that these are single ingredient with lots of protein and seem really healthy for my dog. She is a big dog so these are one-bite treats for her and she usually gets a few per session, which is fine since they are economically priced. I find that they do get a little sticky if I don't use them up pretty quickly once I open the bag so the longevity might not be great if you plan to only give your dog one every once in awhile. These do not seem to cause my dog any allergies or digestive issues, which is especially important since she is very sensitive and picky. We have repurchased these a number of times already and plan to continue to do so!
