It’s an upgrade
I have an old style maglite flashlight and I did this upgrade it’s not as bright as you see on the newer version of flashlights but it is bright enough to get the job done.

Exact Fit & 2x the Brightness of Original Bulb
Great light with double the illumination of the standard incandescent bulb. Easy installation. I did have to clean the contact points on my Maglite because after I put the new led bulb in, it blinked for about 3-4 seconds before coming on. I cleaned and each contact point and reassembled the light. It worked perfectly after that. It appears the LED bulb needs a good DC flow of current to operate properly. The LED bulb fit exactly back in where the original bulb was. My Maglite is a 3 cell D battery light.

Good for a month, then crap!
This bulb WAS much brighter than the original bulb (3 D-cell MagLight), for maybe a month or so. Now that we're past the Amazon return window, the bulb randomly turns off, flashes on/off about once per second, strobes at high frequency, or a combination of these in a loop - everything but 'stay on,. That may be interesting for a disco, but it's useless for a flashlight.

Its gooood
Was skepticsl at first but when I pressed the light button geeez this little this is bright. Dont get too excited though its not as bright as the newer smaller super led flashlight 10000 lumens but its a couple of upgrades from the former

Revived an old Maglite... super Happy with the L.E.D. bulb
The L.E.D. bulb for my 3-D Cell Maglite came next day, (which you can't beat that) worked and fit perfectly. NO Hassle you just take the collar off the old yellow light bulb and put the collar over the new white light LED bulb and that is it..... DONE. Great seller. Great product. Great experience all around. 5 Stars

My old 3D-cell Maglite, a premium flashlight in its day, was almost a throwaway due to it’s old style bulb. Finally made the decision to at least try an upgrade, and this LED “bulb” was well worth it! I now have a nicely bright, solid, metal flashlight. Will be upgrading all my other various size Maglite flashlights.
