Great Acoustic Preamp and Equalizer with Useful Enhancements
Great Preamp and Equalizer with some useful enhancements. I've only used this preamp in my home music room with my acoustic guitar and my Marshall AS50 acoustic guitar amp., but so far I'm very impressed. The heart of this pedal is the 5-band graphic equalizer and preamp that allows you to balance your guitar's amplified sound to the space you're playing in. I got it because the bass end of my guitar's tone was a bit much when I turned up the amp volume and the basic tone controls would cut out more of the lower midranges when I turned down the bass level. With 5 channels, I can now shape the sound to it's optimum mix for the room. Another desirable benefit of the 5-band equalizer is that I can now change my guitar's sound to a more bass, mid, or treble range to suit the particular song and style I'm playing. While I generally don't crank up my amp very high in my house, I've turned up the volume to test the adjustable notch filter, high-pass settings and phase selector to dampen out low frequency feedback and resonation and all of these work like champs. The last adjustment is the gain selector which allows you to select the amount of preamp gain and then fine-adjust it with the volume control. The output from this pedal is clean and distortion free, and accounting for adjustment that you make, it does a great job of maintaining the pure and authentic sound of my instrument. A great full-featured pedal for the price. I look forward to using it in a larger venue while playing with other musicians, so I can take full advantage of its capabilities.

Baggs Align EQ is very professional Quality
The Baggs Align EQ is very natural sounding and neutral. Does not alter the dry guitar signal. The EQ Ranges are clean and effective allowing for tone shaping. I mostly use it to cut 'offending frequencies'. I typically use this pedal 'always on'. It sounds great. The Notch filter is FABULOUS. It is so easy to sweep the knob until the feedback and offending frequency is found. It has a very sharp Q and only cuts the bad frequency. Many notch filters rob the over all tone when they are enaged. But this Notch filter leaves most of the tone of the acoustic guitar intact while notching out the frequency causing the feedback. Super easy and musical. The EQ knobs are very small and on a pedalboard, its hard to see where the center position is. But the knobs don't get easily bumped once they are dialed to the desired setting. That is great. Very professional piece of gear. I am very impressed.

Noticeable improvement for the money
I have a Breedlove AC250 that I play most often. It’s an ok little guitar and has served me fairly well but it does not sound great plugged in. Well, it sounds like a guitar of its price range plugged in… I picked this up to try to savage some kind of sound quality out of it and it makes a difference for sure. It’s not a silver bullet but it certainly takes some of the quackyness out of it. I’d say worth the price for the improvement.
