So far, so good. I had another one of these things but it had the metal bars with the Springs. Don't buy that 1. It will break in a few months. Metal bends all over the place and snaps. This has a goose neck. My guess is it won't break as quickly as the last one did. Also, the switch is mounted on the bottom. It's very easy to get to it. It's not on the cord where it's flopping. All over the place this one is nice and bright and real glass lens. Be sure to read all the customer reviews.I have ordered these years ago only to get a plastic lens and not 10K.This one truly is ten I don't know. Let's see what happens after a couple of months but so far so good.

I like the different light settings. Sometimes I like softer red light and sometimes I need bright, whiter light. Magnifying glass is clear and good size. The arm is strong enough to hold where you put it, which some competitors can't say. I opted for this one as opposed to the shorter one for its length.

I've tried a few now and honestly this gets the job done. I use it for permanent jewelry and it works really well as far as the brightness and clarity go.

The light is so little that you cannot do much of anything with it.

My other magnifier that I use for embroidery/slow stitching broke, and I needed to replace it ASAP. The one I had, clipped on to the desk/table and it slipped constantly and had to be readjusted) it was annoying). I saw that this one clamped on to the table and I thought this would be perfect for me. And IT WAS, once it is clamped on it does not move, it is longer than my previous magnifier and it is BRIGHT...wow, just wow.....im quite impressed.

I use this as a the main light at my work bench in the evenings, as such, it could be a bit brighter. I wished it came with a cover, but I managed to find a plastic lid that fit perfectly to keep the glass clean. The neck is extremely stiff. This is good because it is sturdy, but bad if you want to move the light back and forth to use the magnifier. The clamp on the base can barley handle the stiffness of the gooseneck. The switch is nice. It has a memory for the last setting and is located at the base which makes it easy to find. 10x magnifying power should be more than adequate for most close up work.
