5 Year Aged Cheddar 40oz Half Loaf

Excellent crumbly sharp cheddar cheese.

Thee BEST extra sharp cheddar that I've head in a long time! I live in NW Iowa and you can't buy a good extra sharp aged cheddar. I worked for a large dairy cooperative and made cheddar cheese for 30+ years. I've tasted and graded more cheese than you can imagine and this cheddar is spot on as far as what I consider a close to perfect aged cheddar. Not really crumbly but breaks apart nicely, no crystals, but has a nice sharp bite and a nice tang on the sides of the tongue. This isn't cheap but it's top quality and I'm sure I'll buy more. Showed up a day early, cold pack was still cold, very well packaged! I would HIGHLY recommend this to anyone!

This is my second order from them for this same cheese and it is so good I wish the price was lower so i could afford to buy it more often but it is still good at any price and i will still buy it in the future just not as much as i would like.

This is the essence of cheddar. Once I gave a friend a chunk of 15 year cheddar. He let me have some. The only difference from our 5 year here was the salt crystals and the astronomical price. If I let myself have this more than on just Friday, I would balloon. 5 year cheddar like this is sharper than extra extra sharp and is called intensely sharp. It is all crumbly the way it's supposed to be. You can't slice it; just chunk it and sweep the crumblies and chunks onto your plate. I toss on a few Saltines and eat one when I have a chunk or two in my mouth. Thank God that Friday night is cheese night at my place.

For a 5 year old cheddar I had expected a lot of crystals to have formed in the cheese. There are not many if that is what you are looking for. But, it is extremely flavorful and a excellent sharp cheddar cheese. All I can say is that I ordered more; that should say something.

Oh my gosh!!!!! I LOVE THIS CHEESE!!! They shipped it GREAT with ice pack to reuse. But better than that.....the cheese is AWESOME. I could get great SHARP CHEDDAR IN NO CA IN THE 70S....NOW I HAVE IT AGAIN!!!!! If you are searching for great aged cheddar...I highly recommend. Additionally. I'm adding this in a few weeks after my first review...I put some of my cheese in my freezedried thing.....CAUSE IT IS SOO GOOD BUT MIGHT GET MOLD IF NOT USED

For a "5 year" cheddar, this block was disappointingly moist internally. We buy Cabot cheddar that are aged 7-9 months, and they are drier than this, which makes me wonder about the product description.

Having grown up in SW Wisconsin & having ready access to wonderful aged sharp cheddars, I’m pretty particular about my cheese. Not having ordered cheese from this supplier, I hoped it would not disappoint. Indeed, it did not! Really good flavor profile, surprisingly creamy with good bite! I’d definitely order it again! It’s really good cheese!
