You're basically paying $8 for an extended advertisement for the author's in-house developed software and related business
Interesting bullet-point style nuggets of information from the author's experience in establishing a single business; not even close to being a summary of top restaurant trends, as the book title suggests. However, as another reviewer noted, it can all be boiled down to a page, or two. It's otherwise a repetitive (and unabashed) promotion of the software system they developed for the business, which goes by the same name, as if the text was designed to hit a target number of specific keyword placements. At least the book in itself gives an example of how to boost profits and milk the business a little further.

I have this excellent written guide to help them (and me
As a business consultant, I am giving out this book to all my clients who are thinking of starting up ANY type of business. I get the words “I want to start up a business in the restaurant industry” said to me every single day by the majority of the people I sit down with. Now, I have this excellent written guide to help them (and me!) filter whether they should go that route or not.In a short, yet very insightful book, Cesar Quintero gives access to eye-opening secrets needed for all food industry entrepreneurs. He begins by saying “the food industry sucks: It sucks time, it sucks energy and it sucks money with very little rewards”; and he shares his mistakes, epiphanies, top trends, and key realities of owning a food business. Some entrepreneurs (and future entrepreneurs) really don't know what it is like to start up a food business—no matter how much research they do—so the success of the enterprise depends largely on following the advice of business owners like Cesar. He rises to this challenge with great skill in this accomplished, atmospheric and thoughtful guide. It is a treat for anyone wanting or thinking of starting up a food business (or any type of business for that matter).

Great Actionable Information
This book goes beyond the restaurant industry and provides actionable tools that can help any business. But as for a brick and mortar establishment - such as a restaurant - transitioning to an efficient way to increase revenues without increasing overhead, as in not needing to open a new location - Just Great!

This dynamic, fun and quick read book should be REQUIRED for food business owners. The Profit Recipe presents a major paradigm shift in the way restaurants can better utilize their assets and target a wider customer base without major investment.
