Tell me you’re into heavy metal, without telling me you’re into heavy metal...
I actually used this on my 6 string and it handled drop G#, no problem. All the heavies. Much djent. Pick-up-a-pancake.

Holds up well to use
I always get these for the 7, great feel and they last well with repeated use.

Get these if you have a 7 string
More and more I've recently been gettings severely miffed with my entry level LTD 7 string, even to the point of thinking about selling it. The low B was too floppy and a nightmare to tune and the whole guitar sounded dull. This was a last ditch attempt to make me like the 7 string, so I chose this set, being heavy at the bottom end and the same gauge as my 6 string at the top. They've made the whole guitar sound like a different instrument entirely. No more floppiness on the low B, tuning stability vastly improved and everything feels far more tight and precise. Not sure how people who prefer a light gauge would find the lower end strings, but being a bass player as well, it wasn't a problem for me. Sticking with these strings from now on.

bright and beefy
replaced the regular gauge 10 - 56 gauge on my seven string because the lower tunings where constantly going out of tune. these strings are very zingy and bright and hold the lower tunings...not sure about the major bright difference though? would recommend that you take your valued seven string to a guitar tech though, because the nut slot may need widening out to accomodate the thicker gauge strings, as well as adjusting neck action and intonation. mine did and therefore, rather than trying it yourself and potentially ruining your guitar, it costs about £40-£60 for a pro guitar tech to set it all up that first time for you. overall, really great strings, although a bit pricey.

My new favourite string.
I got these for my newly acquired Schecter 7-string (strings on them were about 2 years old and had no tone). After watching a few Ernie Ball Youtube videos and reading a few reviews I knew I had to try them. Cobalt is the most magnetic metal (and how do pickups work?) so they sound amazing. And they give you that extra bit of clarity for the bottom end of the 7-string (which you'll definitely need of you're using heavy distortion/overdrive/fuzz). And they're so soft/smooth and easy on the fingers (would be ideal for beginners without callouses).

Best guitar strings money can buy
Amazing guitar strings, great tone and a good feel to them. You might want to clean these because they get really dirty and it can ruin the coating.

Wow!
What a set of strings! Playability is top notch and sound is crisp and clear. Taken my 7 string to the next level

Amazing
My purpose for these strings was to drop my thick E string to an A (Drop-A). With the regular strings the E string is very loose and sounds awful so after looking into the matter i found these and they are perfect. The tone is amazing, there are 7 strings for use with a 7 string guitar but you can use just 6 strings on a regular guitar and just not use the 0.42 string. Strings: 62=E/A 42=A 30=D 17=G 13=b 10=e

All comparisons/descriptions are in the context of my guitar (alder body, maple/pau ferro neck with SS frets, hard-tail bridge). I've been using Stringjoy strings for a while now (freaking fantastic by the way, as customizable as you could want gauge-wise) which are very full and lively (lots of harmonics, plenty of mids and they feel amazing for strings made of standard materials). The Cobalts, by direct comparison, have a lot less mids, around the same amount of low end and a bit more presence on top. They jangle very well and would be great for a guitar/pickups that are a little clogged up in the midrange. The set I normally use has gauges very close to this set of cobalts, but the cobalts feel a bit more loose than I would have expected (a few reviews I read stated that, when questioned, the folks at EB said that they're made with a slightly smaller core wire and that's fairly easy to see when inspecting the ball end during installation). They feel a bit rougher than what I'm used to, but they aren't uncomfortable by any means. I feel the greatest strength of this material is just how controlled/quiet they sound. Not just because of the slight scoop in the mids, but I don't hear the strings ring between the nut and tuners at all. Compared to standard slinkys and paradigms the cobalts are far and away my favorite. I'll be switching back to my Stringjoys in 10-14 days, but these are great strings that I could see many applications for.

Prodotto promosso
