Perfect replacement for OEM part. Super easy install just make sure to watch fingers around plastic edges they can be sharp and don’t press to hard on piece when installing because it will crack. Be as gentle as possible

Installation and fit was perfect. No issues at all. Removed the cracked originals, cleaned the area really good and installed the new ones. Installation was easy. No instructions at all. I had viewed a few youtube videos beforehand to familiarize myself with the Installation. FitSo 5 out 5. Now, I haven't driven it yet. So, if in a short time it flies off or something else crazy goes wrong, I'll be sure to update this.

Good quality. OEM fit not like others that flair out up top toward the roof. Came with extra clips I didnt need thankfully. Hand tight bolts, line up clips with holes carefully and gently push down with palm.

I ordered this to avoid the wait for the recall on the original piece that broke on our explorer. When the part showed up, it included an adhesive strip to attach the inner molding to the outer molding that they shipped. This molding is attached to the original OEM piece by sliding tabs that can be taken off and reattached. After attaching the inner molding via adhesive, I attempted to install the assembled molding to the vehicle. The molding broke while pushing it into the push tabs that fix it to the vehicle. Even though the plastic was more brittle than I would expect, I assumed this was my error and ordered a second trim piece. When the new piece arrived I realized I could not use the old inner trim piece as it was glued to the first broken piece. As I evaluated further, I realized that the first piece broke because the piece does not fit properly and the misaligned tabs are what caused the molding to break. I found another trim elsewhere that included the inner molding for a similar price. I do not recommended purchasing this molding.

Fits oem for my Explorer 2017

Perfect replacement for my 2016 Explorer. Not sure why people are complaining about fit and it breaking. Here are some suggestions for installation… - bite the bullet and replace plastic base which screws onto A pillar - clean everything well - be sure to remove the original top click which tends to stay in the frame (if you replace the base) - mark ALL of the clip points with blue tape on the exterior of the glossy finished trim piece. This will help you remember where to GENTLY push onto the base. - DO NOT use the provided adhesive strip. Ford does not provide one. I think this after market one had it installed to ensure it would never come off. The problem is that if you are not perfect on alignment on the first attempt, you run the risk of breaking it trying to pull it off to move it. There are 8 holding clips. You do not need the adhesive.
