I recently purchased a set of the Nakamichi Excel plugs in the straight (non-right-angle) version when I realized that screw-down speaker posts on my Yamaha R-N800A receiver were coming loose and causing the left channel to cut out. They are fantastic. Very secure, and I believe a noticeable improvement in sound. (And FOR SURE noticeable when the wires were coming loose! LOL.)So when I had the same experience with the speaker posts on my Hales Design Group Revelation 2 speakers, I bought these. They are the same great quality. However, I noticed that the right-angle design leads to an easy rotation of the posts and was concerned that the two metal sleeves touching would cause a short. I emailed Nakamichi and they assured me the sleeves are non-conductive. So I reinstalled the right angle plugs and with the receiver playing ever so softly... touched the sleeves. Sure enough, they are non-conductive. WHEW!They look great, sound great, make for a secure connection, and are priced right. Thumbs up.

work well, nice feel and hi end looking, markings are good and they even give you an extra screw that you will need. I snapped one because of the size so the extra came in handy.

I have 12 gauge wires, but the longer screws would not go in far enough to get the collar around. Then I noticed another bag in the kit and it had the shorter set screws. And, there was yet another small bag with one longer screw in it where I could put the ones I swapped out. Very nice.

Nakamichi Excel Series 24k Gold Plated Banana Plug 12-18 AWG Gauge are the highest quality banana plugs I have used. No part is attracted to a magnet. Very precisely machined parts. The only minor issue is I had to spend $5 to buy Nakamichi screws for 10 gauge wire. Why not sell these with the shorter 10 gauge screws installed ? The people spending this much for banana plugs will probably be using 12 gauge or thicker wire. I would buy these again.

I am a big Nakamichi fan so I was very disappointed with this banana plug. It was as loose as a goose, and the Sewell plugs I had on hand were obviously tighter in the speaker terminal. I did purchase some Nak banana plugs a month or so ago and they were fine. Maybe a quality control issue? Regardless, I'm still a big Nakamichi fan.
