Q: Can a steel engineers vice be fitted to the bench?

I'd mount the vice on a separate piece of wood, say a small chunk of 1" ply or kitchen work top off cut, add a tung on underside and you can then clamp it in the table end vice when needed and remove when not, atleast your not drilling into the table top.

Q: Hi i am thinking of buying two and having them back to back with one end against a wall. Can yo fit the vice either end?

As some others have said, the vise is designed to go on one end. However, the bench is symmetrical, made for the purpose of making things, and likely to be delivered to someone with an interest in and tools for making stuff. Put all that together and I am sure the vise position can be altered.

Q: What diameter are the bench dog holes please?

They are 16mm. Confirmed from manufacturer.

Q: Can castors be attached to this bench?

I can’t see a problem adding castors
