Good for your money, unsure about quality
First off, the sockets look great. First time holding them I instantly gravitated towards getting gearwrench sockets for all sizes and drives, but when I started fitting the sockets to my ratchets I started getting second opinions. They feel great in the hand, they fit on fasteners good, and as I said they look sleek and modern. But, when fit to almost every ratchet I own, they rattle and wobble on the drive. Tried them on a Snap On, Pittsburgh, craftsman, and Icon 1/4" ratchet and the loose fit on the drive (both shallow and deep sockets) is too annoying to me. The fit on my Matco ratchet barely wobbles, but the anvil is longer. The Matco is my go to, so thats the only redeeming factor about the wobble. No other socket brand I've had has wobbled that bad. Amazon page says made in China, so I'm going to switch to another brand for sockets, at least. I have used other gearwrench products and have been impressed but that was for their Taiwan products. Long story short, poor drive fitment to the ratchet feels cheap. Good value. Questionable quality and warranty procedures.

Best socket set for price.
Love this sockets, due to having thin wall. Great for close tolerance places.

I have a metric set of Snap on sockets and a set of these in SAE and they are nearly identical in quality and size. But nearly 75% cheaper. Very thin walled to get into tight spots. Havnt had one slip or wear out yet. (Bought 6 months ago). The only thing I wish is that the socket sizes were more legible on the side.

Where were these last fall when I had to spend an hour and a half at a Canadian Tire searching through every single set from every brand of sockets they had and ended up having to spend $300 for a 270 piece set just because I needed a single quarter inch 12 point socket to remove the pad retention pins from my front calliper on my 2006 Harley Davidson Dyna because the set of sockets that I’ve had since 2009 that I got when I went to school for mechanics as a Christmas gift from my parents has always had absolutely everything I’ve ever needed up until this break job I got lucky and my father was in the market for a socket set at the same time so essentially we worked out a deal where I used it for my job up until the next time they made the trip across the province to visit us and then told me to keep the one socket I needed that said my trusty old Mastercraft set that’s never not had something to get the job done for me until this specific time seems to be lacking in the 12point sockets in the SAE department and at the same price for this GEARWRENCH rail it was a no brainer I’ve been wanting to get the chance to try some of what GEARWRENCH has to offer for some time now but generally speaking they are not readily available locally and sell for a premium when compared with other import brands which also have lifetime warranty locally Stanley and Mastercraft are the first that come to mind and generally nice found that my old mastercraft sockets seem ti be of significantly higher quality than any modern production. Alternatives at a price point I’m comfortable with and have no real need for anything else tho I’m now giving a Taiwanese brand Rigor an honest shot as they appear to be the Mac RBRT/Craftsman Overdrive sockets with a significant price reduction and they’re extremely high quality for the price these GEARWRENCH sockets have excellent chrome plating and finishing tho they have a very lightweight feel to them it’s almost off putting in the sense that they don’t feel like they’re on par with extremely high quality that the reputation leads one to believe time will tell I suppose and the tail is significantly better than current Mastercraft maxim offerings but not as nice as the rails included with the Rigor Non-Slip socket sets it works better than nothing but doesn’t scream of convenience but at least they have ball detents and slots independently of each other and they hold the sockets in place reasonably well so all in all for 30 dollars Canadian on sale and being a 1/4” drive 12 point socket set the amount of use these are going to get I’m not too concerned about them failing and worst case scenario I have more faith in GEARWRENCH than I do Canadian tire for warranting a mastercraft product they do the thing and that’s about all I can ask for
