Yes, it is soft like latex. Maybe about like a new 3/8" diameter nylon rope. Maybe a tad stiffer than latex, but not rigid or hard.

How easily does this tubing kink? The tubing I currently have just collapses under its own weight and is useless.

It depends on the wall thickness. The one I purchased, which was 1/2" ID x 3/4" OD, has a wall thickness of 1/8" and it does not kink as easily but I can understand that a thinner wall thickness would easily kink.
