Great quality at great price
Purchased this to fill a 4x2x2 enclosure and 1 10lb worked perfectly. I was pleasantly surprised with the quality given i have only used ReptiChip up until now. This item was similar to reptichip in my opinion.

The price is right and the product is excellent
Very happy with the product very easy to break up the bricks with hot water snakes are enjoying it. It keeps good moisture for the humidity and it’s not powder fine like a lot of other products out there and the price is right 10 pound black makes 72 quarts. Very happy 72 quarts are more than enough for my 10 snakes that are in individual tubs

Perfect sized chunks for enclosure

Only 8 lbs but it's cheaper than the 1lb 8 pack.
I use this to make my own houseplant soil mix. I didn't think the smell was strong at all. It was very chunky as expected, and decompressed easily in water. The brick itself was only 8lbs dry, not 10 as advertised. I would have been upset at this if the 10lb brick had cost more than the 1lb 8 pack option. The 10lb brick only cost me $22 though, and the 8 pack is at $27 currently, so I'm happy.

Great product
Absolutely the bomb! Easy to expand and take apart. Used to mix my own Orchid potting medium. Also use as mulch on several outdoor flower/plant containers. Will buy again.

Great value and easy to use, some plastic and clay found mixed in
I bought this to try out in a ball python enclosure, overall I am pretty happy with it. The bricks are a great size for freezing. I froze mine for several days and used boiling water to hydrate it. One brick filled about 1/3rd of a 5gal bucket and fully covered the bottom of a 36”x18” 50 gallon enclosure. I will probably use 4-5 bricks to achieve 4 inches of coverage. The substrate is a mix of fiber and chip and I did find some large clumps of clay mixed in as well as string and some little bits of plastic, just be sure to sort through it. This is why I gave it 4 instead of 5 stars. This holds moisture well and reconstituted quickly. It is very soft, left no splinters in my hand and has a nice earthy smell. The picture I included of the enclosure is one brick.

good stuff
This stuff is awesome. Love that it comes compact so doesn't take up much space until ready to use. I use it as one component of my media.

Great product to mix into soil.
The husk was well packaged and arrived in good shape. The husk has smaller both like coco coir, shredded parts and also chunks. It mixed well into soil.

This is David, He’s having a great time with the unpackaged substrate, I’m sure he rates it 10/10. Haven’t tried the substrate itself yet but seems great, especially for the low price!
