They drill well in mild steel. They retain an edge. The drill case is less than I expected it could be a little better. Overall a good value for the price.

I drilled out a grade 8 broken off crankshaft bolt used cutting oil and it cut as good as my snap on drill bits when they were new and stayed sharp great product everybody needs these in the toolbox

Replaced my old worn out $180 drill bit set but now that I’m retired and not using them on the job, I don’t need to spend that kind of money. The drill bits in this set are good quality for the Money, so I do recommend them. The coating that people are commenting about is to keep them protected from corrosion during pre-shipment and shipment. I’m sure they are coming for overseas so will be exposed to high humidity for extended periods. As others have commented on, the case they come in is about as cheap as it gets. Mine wasn’t damaged but had to work on it so it would open and close freely. If these bits were on a technicians truck like my old $180 set, the cheap case would last about a week. For me it will just stay in my shop and I’ll grab a bit as needed. Getting it to open freely and re-staking the cheap brass hinge pins will work fine. Drill bits can get really expensive but if you are using these at home for normal tasks they are plenty good.

I use these to drill stainless and case hardened steel in a drill press. They work great. The only negative is the smaller ones are a little hard to get out of the case even though I love the rotary design.

These drill bits are delivered with a sticky coating on them to protect from rust. I washed mine in a small amount of gasoline and a cheap brush, then dried with a scott paper towel.I did have a problem with one bit and 2 emails with the seller had the problem resolved that fully satisfied me!I have only used them with 6061 alloy on my lathe so far with good results. They are very sharp with little to no chatter when drilling deep in 4" of work. Use cutting/drilling fluid to keep them sharp. The bits I have used so far are spot on for size and needed only slight reaming.I have already recommended these and will continue to do so.5-stars, highly recommnended.
