WORKS GREAT!
I'm pleased with how easy this is to use. Injured my middle finger & the pain was awful. This splint has helped tremendously. Purchased the extension splint & it was a joke & a nuisance. Threw it away. I'm buying another one of these splints just to have a backup. Good price!

This is trash
Rough and sharp edges are sharp and poorly designed.

Make a different splint
You need to make a splint to protect the distal interphalangeal joint ONLY. I bought this and cut it off, however, you lose the piece that holds it on your finger, so I had to tape it on. I needed to stabilize this DI joint due to a fusion, but be able to move the other joints.

But was good till then

Keeps Finger Joint From Moving
This splint is used for what is known as 'mallet finger' when a tendon is torn over a finger joint (this review is not a medical diagnosis in any way- just defining the word- since baseball finger isn't one commonly used) causing the finger to curve or droop, unable to straighten out on its own. The Splint holds the finger in a rigid position so the tendon can heal and full use be restored. This type of splint will fit on any medium size finger- but may not be ideal for use on the thumb. If you're going to wear this type of splint in the shower you'll need to cover it with a large plastic bag or similar to keep the foam from getting wet unless you want to buy several replacements since you don't want the foam to be damp. Overall it's an effective easily usable choice if you want to keep a finger rigid for whatever reason.

Really helps my arthritic fingers
My index and middle finger ache from arthritis and sometimes one or both will get that sticky hinge where I can't straighten them without a lot of pain, so I try to keep them straight when they're really achy. It's hard to keep them straight and not let them relax, so these braces are able to keep them in a straight position. Keeping these fingers cradled in the braces make them feel better and helps to relieve the pain somewhat. I can still use them to an extent without having to bend them. I've been able to bend these braces slightly into a position that is comfortable to my fingers and upper palm. I have shorter fingers and the medium is just right for me.I've worn the medium size brace and it's a better fit for my shorter fingers. The large size brace has too long of a tail (piece that comes down around the palm area). I can use it on my index finger as a backup, but prefer the medium. I wanted to try the large as I thought it might be a bit wider, but it's longer, not wider.
