Consistent. Easy to use. Darker than some. Suitable alt to Carbon Black.
I have used Conspec deep black, and carbon black. True carbon black is harder to find. Conspec has worked consistently for me. It produces the level of black you would expect from concrete. It has less wash out than carbon black, but a very slight color difference. I polished my concrete down to 1000 or 2000 grit diamond pad. It's still quit black despite all the washing steps. If you polish, you will expose tiny bits of rock and sand and it will make the average lighter, but the cement part itself is like a night sky. You can add this to your dry components and mix as well as possible before adding water. You could potentially make a ready to use mix this way. Wear a mask! I use 2 rock 2 sand 1.5 cement 0.05 super plasticizer and about 0.1 Conspec for deep black (but check the labels and directions.) I have done it so many times that I eyeball it and don'[t measure. If you use to little you will get gray, so make a little test batch.

Needed black mortar
No longer able to find black mortar in my area, I found Conspec's Deep Black Powdered Color on Amazon. I called the company and they were able to answer all of my questions. I ordered immediately. Immediate shipping and more importantly, it works as advertised!

Deep Dark Dark Pigment
I use this to color already black powdered grout for my mosaics. Makes it the best deep deep black ever whereas just plain black grout normally dries to a dark gray.

I attempted to use this as I was skim coating ...
I attempted to use this as I was skim coating my countertops with concrete. I wanted a dark black counter. No matter how much of this I applied, it never went much past dark gray. Additionally, if you get the wet, dyed concrete on ANYTHING in the vicinity of where you are working, the dye will seep in and stain walls, counters etc. The dye also releases into the air when you sand, and when you try to wipe said dust off the walls/counters, again it will stain. The counters were the last bit of work we had to do in our kitchen...until we used this product. I ended up having to completely repaint the kitchen and touch up the cabinets because of the black stains everywhere. And even with that I still had to re-do the counters, since they turned out no where close to a "deep black".

Worked great to make "black" grout really black!
Mixed easily with the grout and water to make a store bought "black" grout really black. Most store bought black grout ends up being a dark gray, not a true black. Wear gloves and don't breathe in when pouring or mixing.

Very dark colorant.
I love it. Very dark. The dark increases as the water increases. I am using it to make two-color concrete tiles and it is easy to use. I will definitely order more.

Great for Countertops!
We used the Deep Black on our bar countertop. The black was VERY dark and beautiful. Highly recommend!
