I ordered this Women Renaissance Blouse Top Corset Waist Belt, Pirate Corset Shirt, Medieval Costume Off Shoulder blouse to add to my family’s costume collection.The sales page has a lot of descriptions for this blouse: renaissance, corset waist, pirate, medieval. You can use it a lot of different ways in different costumes.The basic piece is a blouse with a scooped neck, bliaut sleeves, a wide, smocked waist, and a sort of deep ruffle of peplum under the waistline. The fabric is manmade, and it wrinkles pretty easily. I used my steamer, and it cleaned up nicely, but it does have that tendency to wrinkle.The bliaut is a 12th century sleeve style, sort of what we tend to think of when we think of a princess dress, or Maid Marion. These are the long sleeves that sort of drip down in a triangle shape from the wrist. This blouse has these sleeves. The droopy triangle shapes are fairly long and give the whole blouse a period aesthetic.The fabric is a bit darker than the cream color in the photos on the sales page. From the sales page, I thought this blouse would be an off-white or cream color. The blouse I received was a bit darker than that. It wasn’t quite beige, but it was darker than cream. It kind of reminded me of the All-of-a-Kind-Family story where the girl dyed her sister’s dress with tea to cover a stain. The blouse looks like a once-white blouse that has changed color over time, sort of like vintage petticoats or curtains or wedding dresses that come out of a trunk looking darkened. It’s a pretty color, but it edges more towards a very pale brown or beige than white.The scoop neck is flattering, and if you wanted to, you could wear this off-shoulder. The blouse comes with a faux-corset styled belt to complete the period look. The belt is made of wide, stretchy elastic and a fake-leather corset front. It has wide Velcro fasteners in the back, and can be adjusted to fit a wide range of sizes. The corset front comes pre-laced. You could loosen it slightly if you need to, but the elastic band and Velcro really take care of the fit.This looks very nice with both medieval and Renaissance styled skirts I own. It could be used in a wide variety of costumes or for cosplay. It isn’t clearly from one particular time period, but it has an aesthetic of Ye Olden Times that make it fun for RenFests.Scoop necked blouse has vintage aesthetic and wide, smocked elastic waist. Comes with a faux-corset styled elastic belt. Made to fit a wide variety of sizes and figure types.

I buy a lot of renaissance clothing so I was excited to get this one and try it. Over all, I think it's a pretty good top but not my favorite. It's nice and lightweight but the material does feel fairly cheap. I could be wrong but it reminds me of the costume fabric you get from Spirit Halloween, if that makes sense. The kind of material you know won't last a super long time but it's cute for a while. The corset however was surprisingly well done. I have a few different elastic belts like this that I bought separate because the ones that usually come with the tops like this end up being really cheap and fall apart instantly. This one is really good and honestly I'll probably use it to go with my other ones. All and all, it's a nice shirt with a great corset belt. Not my favorite but I'm still glad I got it.
