Switch Brain Off And Enjoy !
Sharron Stone is in it , what's not to like ! I really enjoyed this edgy thriller lots of blood, sex and twists and turns to keep you guessing. Sharron Stone appears to be enjoying herself sending her psychiatrist slowly over the edge. Stan Collymore 's film career sinks without a trace ! Only minor gripe is that no matter how I tried I could not get rid of the subtitles off the screen. However it plays in English and the picture is very good and clear and Sharron Stone looks very sexy and has some very nice clothes which to show her body off at its best.

Not that bad basically.
The main problem with this film was going to be trying to live up to the first which is a classic steamy thriller. This had too much to live up to in comparison but it still passes as an ok thriller. Not quite as steamy as the first, but there is some sexual tension between Stone and the detective. There are a few sex scenes but nothing different from most films of this type. Stone does still look very sultry. The story is ok and as it progresses more plot twists come up with different suspects with various good reasons, could be the killer. By the end of the film you could be left wondering who was the killer and who used who as a cover up story. Overall better than a lot of thrillers but far from a classic like the first one. 6/10

Ludicrous but all good fun
It took a long time coming but thank goodness for Basic Instinct 2. This film is basically rollicking good fun. The plot is ludicrous beyond belief but that is what makes this film so watchable. It all starts off with a high speed car drive in a traffic-free London (traffic-free London - can you believe that?) and then proceeds to become a psychological thriller with plenty of psycho but not much logical. The plot has more twists and turns than a twisty thing as psychoanalyst Michael Glass (David Morrissey) ultimately loses his mind to Sharon Stone's Catherine Tramell, the hot blond novelist with the hot body and the hot-tub. If that really is a natural Sharon Stone, then it is no wonder that David Morrissey looks stunned most of the time. It is a great pity that there is no UK Blu-ray with which to enhance my viewing enjoyment of Sharon Stone in the buff. The Uncut DVD has a quoted run time of 109 minutes and aspect ratio of 2.40:1. Sound options are Dolby stereo and 5.1. Extras include deleted scenes and alternate ending, commentaries and a making-of featurette.

One of the worst sequels ever
The original Basic Instinct was a great film, but this sorry sequel suffers by comparison. In fact, even as a stand - alone piece of cinema it is rubbish. This time out, Sharon Stone's character is up to her old shenanigans in London, and has her sights set on the excellent David Morrissey, who is wasted here.Lazy script, cringe-worthy dialogue, and very unsexy sexiness aside, the biggest problem here is that Sharon Stone is simply too old to be playing a seductress, even a cougarish one. Sure, she looks amazing for 50, but that still makes her 50, so it's all relative. Seeing someone old enough to be a grandmother frolic about in the buff is embarrassing and awkward, and to see her wearing clothes designed for a woman three decades younger is just depressing.Sharon obviously made this film for one reason -the money. Let's face it, in the few years before BI2, her career hadn't exactly been on fire; she'd been relegated to mostly playing second female lead, which is only one step away from guest starring on NCIS.For those who saw the original and liked it, I would urge you to stay well clear of this 'erotic thriller', which is neither sexy or thrilling. What it is, is the movie equivalent of a once great boxer, now fat and old, stepping back into the ring when he's the only once who doesn't know he's past it.

WHATCHOUT FOR THE ICEPICK!
The Sequel from 2006 gets SO much hate, but to ME - this is better than the original 🙂 I have always loved this one more than the original. I HAD to get the UNCUT VERSION because it is LESS rushed than the Standard Cut you can see on TV. This is a replacement for my original DVD getting scratches after dropping it on the floor 😅 Delivery date 24/2/22.
