For the price, it's an amazing camera. Easy to set up, motion detection works pretty well, and it's held up all winter in MN temps. The motion detection gets a bit out of hand, with bugs and rain, but I tend to just adjust it until it seems to ignore those things. At night, it's a good black and white image. Not sure how to get the night color to work, but it's not a dealbreaker. For the low price, the camera is amazing.

If you evaluate this camera by its size and price, it's excellent. It's small, has a very compact and practical design, and adapts to different positions depending on its use, whether indoors or outdoors. Its cable is a good length, its connection is very reliable and stable, the viewing angles for its size are very good, as is the image quality and night vision, and the built-in lights are also excellent. I like the option to record locally to a micro SD card. One of its best features is the Tapo app; it's excellent, very intuitive, and easy to use. The configuration of several functions is very good, such as continuous recording or when detecting movement, people, pets and cars (you have to adjust it well to avoid false alarms), surveillance zones, color night vision (although I prefer to use it in black and white), and Tapo also has other products that can be automated within the app, such as smart bulbs that, when detecting movement, the camera records and the bulb turns on and I also like that the vast majority of functions are free except for cloud recording, perhaps its weak point is its audio that is not catastrophic but could improve. As I said at the beginning, if we evaluate it by its price and size, it is a good product, I recommend it.

Really clear video, crisp sound, works great. Easy installation and app is very user friendly. I will definitely purchase another one.

never owned a camera before but this is the best bang for your buck! i’d rate this higher than 5 stars if i could. really good camera quality even in a torrential downpour. the app is super easy to use, the motion detection and person feature works perfectly. my favorite part about the camera is it records a bit before, during, and a bit after what it captures. 10/10 HIGHLY recommend!!!

After some trouble shooting, I realized it was the provided cable that was at fault for the camera not being able to connect to the network. Also, the supplied cable kept falling out of its socket at the rear of the camera.After changing out the USB to C cable, to one that seated properly, everything was fine. Resolution is great and color is excellent. Haven't seen nighttime view yet. The camera is set up outdoors, about 10 or so feet from the router, so I can't attest to the range at present. I plan on getting another one, which will be set up about 40+ feet from the router and on a different floor, so will be better able to judge the range then, and will repost when I've checked that out. Also, an update started when I turned on the camera.Update: the additional cam I connected, at approximately 40ft from router, and on a different floor level, works well. The picture quality remains excellent and night view/and infrared are both very good.

Camera is fantastic. Great features. You can separately set zones for motion, people, pets, and vehicles. You can also set a privacy zone -an area that the camera will not record. The App is great too. If you look on TP-Link's website you can find an instruction manual for using the App. I downloaded it to my desktop. The only thing I wish is when you set the areas for the different zones there are only four dots in the corners that you can manipulate. It would be much easier to set those zones if there were four more points for a total of eight. That way you could create a better variety of shapes to fit the area where you need the zone. Only having four points limits you and it becomes a matter of a little give and take to set your zones. You get all the features without having a subscription. Just put in a micro SD card. I bought a Sandisk High Endurance 128GB for around $15. The camera will loop and overwrite the micro sd card once its full. Even without a subscription you can get a live view on your phone from anywhere and the recordings are local to your SD card. If you need to download a video, your phone just needs to be connected to the same wifi network the camera is connected to. The downloaded video will appear in your phone's camera gallery. I highly recommend this camera. For the price, you can't go wrong. I bought a couple of Ring cameras, set them up, played with the app a little bit. Honestly, I prefer the Tapo cameras. I returned the Ring cameras I bought. By the way, the video and snapshots that you can record are fantastic. Very clear and easy to see details including the night vision videos.
