Not functional
Item was too tight and not useable. Was purchased separately from the attic hinges instead of being sold together and when returned was charged an undisclosed restocking fee for the item. Product and customer service leave much to be desired.

Did not keep door fully closed.
Springs did not keep wooden attic ladder fully closed. They seem to be weaker than the old springs. Instructions say springs should be black, but they are uncolored silver metal. (The original springs were black.)
