Easy to Use
I ordered this EJWOX Compost Aerator Tool to (duh) aerate my compost. On the plus side, this thing does a good job of carrying compost from the bottom of the pile to the top. You just need to remember to turn it in the proper direction. On the negative side, it's made of two pieces that are joined by a ferrule that is held in place by two screws. I'm sure that the two-piece nature of this tool is based upon ease in shipping, but I have some concerns about how well it will hold up over time. It does take a fair bit of pressure to get this thing to the bottom of the pile, and it's also subjected to stress when being turned to raise the bottom of the pile to the top. I would have preferred a one piece design.

Game changer
I compost all the time and usually use a pitchfork to turn over my compost pile. It takes a lot of time to create a new pile. I saw this compost-turner and decided to give it a try. I tried it yesterday and it was so much better. I just twisted and turned it in the compost pile in a few spots and it really turned it good without having to use a pitch fork and create a new pile. I will turn my pile twice a week since it is so fast and easy to use. It looks well-made and strong. I think it will last a few years. Maybe it is not good to use it in the winter when some compost may be frozen, but it will work in the other seasons.

So difficult to assemble!
I tried assembling this per the directions and couldn't get the piece that holds the two sides to move freely, even without the screws. I had to wait until my husband was available and he took a hammer to help. Once assembled it seems like it will stay together. The handles seem like cheap plastic. I used this on a compost pile I have. I feel like it is set up for rotating in the wrong direction, like twisting the other way would be easier. But getting it down in the pile wasn't too difficult, and then I'd pull up and get some of the middle layer to the top. I can't say that it rotated all that well, but it did elevate some. Unfortunately, it is a time-consuming process if you have a wide pile as this doesn't do much at a time. So, it does work, and is sturdy once you get it properly assembled. It isn't as effective as I hoped.
