Dream

It's a solid album; mostly metal, but with a few pop/indie/alt tendencies. The contrast between these elements and heavier ones (e.g. the screaming in the over-busy ninth track, The Great Divide) clash a little accros the album - it's quite a mixed bag. Both sides come together quite well in 10 Violet Skies. There is, of course, the obligatory piano-back ballad which is completely passable, and the almost meditative album closer which builds to quite a nice height before it finishes.The vocals tend to sit on the raw side and, excepting the softer tracks, are at maximum belt a lot of the time. With an ethereal backing chorus one moment, the streched vocals the next, it feels like a waste of range. There are no shining moments of a strong voice cutting through solid riffs.As for the guitar in, no complaints here other than to say that the classic layering of leads over nu-alt style chugging is a little distracting sometimes.There is nothing exceptional about any of the tracks on the album, but I'm perfectly happy sticking it in a shuffle playlist.

I love this CD, its very consistent, there aren't any track i dislike, i love them all.Full of grit and power, and definately something i dance around to.Has some really nice songs on, one song that is particularly beautiful and a change from the other tracks is 'The Promise into the light'.Its nice to have a band with a female singer who can kick some behind.Her voice is amazing, and ther's a good mix or singing and super powerful growling / screaming.I can listen to this over and over and not get tired of it.A fantastic alum, not one bad thing abut it, really well recorded, i definately recommend it!

Found it hard to find this album in the store and got it here. massive fan of the band.

I love the music this band created. They build on their abilities and seem very capable of adapting to changes in tempo and style. As with the other albums, I love every song.

what a great album, introduced to this band by a friend who made the right choice to tell me about them and consequently have purchased all their albums... Heavy but in all the right places
