This is my third order. Very helpful in my garden, decent price too. Easy to work with, just make sure the water is nicely warm. The warm water helps break it up easily and it really expands well. Makes 25 gallons of soil when mixed with compost and perlite. I used to use peat moss, but that makes the soil a bit acidic. This creates a more neutral ph balance. Keeps the soil moist.

First time using coco coir so it was interesting watching it expand. I put it into a 24 gallon storage tote and added water. Actually I added to much water that I had to drill two holes in the bottom of the tub to drain off the excess. Got a little more than a half a tub for future plants and seedlings. With a lid on it will be available until next spring.

I placed this in a 18 gallon container. It filled it up after I poured enough water on it. Its great quality and easy to work with. Some of my plant I just used potting soil. Some I used coconut coir mixed will all purpose potting soil and the plants grew quicker. I was mind blown. It has moisture retention which is awesome. It works amazingly great. It's easy to store. I just love it!!! I've developed a green thumb. I would take a photo but I've been using it a lot so you wouldn't be accurate.

Use this for my raised bed. If you’re doing The Mel Mix recipe then I think about three of these would be good for a 4 x 8 race bed that is about 17 inches deep.

Great product. Expands enough to fill up a 13gal garbage bag. Definitely buy again in the future.

This 10 pound block came in a sealed package, in good condition. After soaking in a large tub with water outside,it expanded to a large quantity. I tested the ph which was definitely more alkaline. There was no chemical smell as mentioned with some of the other coir fiber. This is not something I would use instead of soil to grow plants, but rather to amend the soil and help with compaction, volume,drainage,or excessive acidity of soil. I will be buying more. I recommend that you test the ph of your mixture prior to planting. I only gave 4 stars due to the alkaline ph. I will update my review if growth issues with plants arise.

This is my first time trying, just put it in cartwheel and add water. Amazing how easy it is. Easy on my back, not lifting the heavy bag. Recommend it 👌

We used the coco coir and layered it over last year's raised bed garden soil and then put new raised bed garden soil on top of the coco coir and it makes a good subbase filler and provides nutrients as well as holds the moisture better. I'm anxious to see how the veggies turn out this year in the raised beds since they did fairly well last year.
