Quick lacing makes them very easy to put on and take off.Comfortable, have a good grip on most surfaces and the sole has hardly worn after a few months use. These harder soles don’t wear down quickly but have less grip on some wet surfaces than softer soled shoes such as wet limestone or wet wood. I take care on those surfaces. The grip is very good on most other wet or dry surfaces (granite, mud, roads, paths, grass etc). They look good, feel light for the functions they provide and have remained waterproof so far.Size - buy bigger. I have been measured by Clark’s from 1980 to 2024 as a UK 6.5. I have some size 7 trainers (12 years old) that are slightly too big. I needed to buy size 8 in these shoes. The shoes also make noises as I walk. I tuck the laces’ plastic sleeves under the front loop of the lace so they don’t tap on the shoes but there is still a squeaking sound when I walk.Overall a great shoe.

Really impressed!
I bought these shoes because I have started running on top of the ridge of the mountain where I live, running on pavement, stony paths, grass, bumpy ground, mud and bog. I have found them to have excellent grip and 100% waterproof. One day they got muddy so I washed them half in a stream - even so they did not let water in. If you are looking for walking shoe that isn't heavy these would tick that box, but they are perfect for off-road running.Straight out the box they have been comfortable for me. I bought a half-size bigger (8.5 instead of 8) I usually buy support shoes or use an insole, but these feel really supportive in all the right ways. I think I like the speed laces, I tighten them 3 times before I get going, but then they keep the shoe tight and are really easy to take off. I wholeheartedly recommend these shoes. I've owned a lot of running shoes and walking shoes (these are a kind of mix of both) but these have probably impressed me the most.

Durable, sturdy but small fit.
A very sturdy shoe, supports the foot perfectly, the sole is very comfortable, it is thoroughly waterproof and the laces brilliant. I recommend to buy a full size up, (not only half as i did) as it is fairly small. When you put the shoe on it feels very tight, but once you stand up and start walking it is surprisingly comfortable! These are trail runing shoes. I bought them for walking shoes which I use everyday walking to work and back in a city environment, mostly asphalt/concrete and they never hurt, or dissapoint.I've had them for 10 months wearing them everyday and last weekend i had the chance to actually use them for a 4 hour trail brisk walk in forest/next to the river trail. Their performance good, although the sole does not have a great grip on wet rocks and mud, it was slippery and by the end of the 4 hour trail, the top of my toes hurt because the shoes are a narrow fit.Overall, I would recommend these shoes for anything less than a 3 hour adventure!

Great walking shoes
These seem to be a great pair of walking boots. You do need to size a complete size up though, I have sent back the first pair and now am awaiting a new size. The colour is great and funky rather than boring brown walking shoes, they do seem quite narrow though so perhaps if you have wide feet try another brand. I did like the laces, they are easy to get on and off due to their easy adjustable wire system rather than traditional laces.

Not breathable and narrow fitting
I chose these walking shoes as i am on my feet for 13 hrs, they are black coloured, which is needed for work purposes, goretex so i thought good for breathability of the feet. I have had Salomon trainers before and found them comfortable, supportive at the heel and arch, so i chose these. I have now had them on for four 13 hr shifts and am very dissatisfied. The toes are extremely hard, no doubt to protect the toes, i do not find them cool to wear whatsover, to the point my feet are very hot and feet and especially at the toes inside, my socks are wet. So breathability is very poor quality, the ties are quite tough to tighten and loosen and fiddly, they are quite a slim fit also. I went for my normal size of 6.5, but i fnd these tight with thin socks on. The design of the shoe almost pushes the toes forward to the point of sqaushing them. For the amount of money paid for them, i am not impressed. I will be sending back as not fit for the purpose they were designed for

Not enough arch support.
They are a well made walking shoe and had they had enough arch support I would have kept them. I would not recommend if you have flat feet. True to size.

New wider fit not so good!
I have given this 5 stars BUT Solomon have reinvented the XA PRO 3D GORTEX shoe and it’s not good if you have slim feet! You can atm (06/08/25) still get the old style here on Amazon ( I got a black pair) which I have given 5 stars ( it’s at least my 5th pair, I usually love them and my hubby has two pairs). BUT but but order the Solomon else where atm and you may get the most recent incarnation ( I did from sports shoes.com)balloon shaped toe that feels like you are trying to lace up a wellington( see pale grey ones in my photos) , puckering over and around the toe/ above footbed area together with heal slip. Historically iv had the odd one leak so immediately returned and replaced, I know the gortex can be temperamental but I don’t think I’ll be buying them again. Shame😕
