Hack Your Bureaucracy: Get Things Done No Matter What Your Role on Any Team

I'm halfway done with reading the book. The topics are not hard to grasp, but they have given me a different perspective when dealing with people and teams. Before approaching a situation, I'm now able to take a step back and reflect on the strategies I will use to - as the title mentions - get things done. Because of the methods mentioned in the mere first half of the book, I've been able to advance personally and professionally. Some of the results are:* Increasing event attendance and interest* Negotiating my dream home* Communicating better with managers and coworkers* and much more!I definitely recommend this book to anyone looking to learn how to work with others and get back into reading (very easy read). 10/10 book!

May feel a little political for some, but the ideas are great for inspiring change and making it the distance to improve things. I found it useful.

A recipe for getting things done in the most difficult of bureaucratic systems that can be applied to all different areas in life (think HOA meetings...). Found this book very clearly written with concrete examples and takeaways. Really cool to see under the hood of what it takes to create change in the government too :)

Do yourself a favor and pick up this book. For anyone who’s ever struggled with bureaucracy at work this book is a must. I can’t tell you how many times over the years the tips and strategies in this book would have saved me countless hours of organizational inertia.

Founders moving from the start-up world to become part of a bureaucracy when acquired by a larger company, especially in technology, will value the parallels drawn between government bureaucracy and the new experiences and challenges these founders soon face. This move is a shock for many acquired founders. This path and the way Nick and Marina have laid out a fact based workbook delivered with real life stories is quite compelling. The stories and examples are based on Nick and Marina’s prior roles and bring the book to life. Having spent chunks of my career in bureaucratic technology companies in service to federal and other government customers, this book is truly an aid, guide and affirmation of what is possible working with, in and through bureaucracies.

This book arrived today and I haven't put it down. Easy to read with good storytelling, but still highly practical - I especially love the "how can I use this" section at the end of each chapter. This is going to be a must-read for everyone on my team!

I initially thought, I don't deal with the federal government that much, so how interesting would this book be? The answer: fascinating! It turns out that the nonprofit partners, foundations, corporations, and yes, government agencies, that I work with are all bureaucracies. And, this book is chock full of great ideas about how to work with bureaucracies to get good stuff done.Highly recommended!
