Manufacturer's Description Three distinct races have converged in a virtual Eden, in the outermost reaches of the galaxy, each with a unique reason for settling this new world. Conflict is inevitable, victory is not. WarPath is a fast-paced FPS game featuring a unique single player mode that allows gamers to battle for control of different territories, with each providing distinct strategic advantages. Once players have honed their skills in the single player missions, they can jump online and let the real action begin.

Unimpressed.
I bought this game thinking it would be a fun, slightly different version of UT2004. Oh dear. Whoever developed this game is seriously close to plagiarism - most of the weapons, the map designs, charectar movement and the entire 'feel' of the game seems to be copied directly from Pariah, without the latter's dark style. However, the map designs are for the most part uninspired, bland and dull. Some of the weapons don't work in the way they ought to (i.e. a game bug) and the whole thing has a rather rushed feel to it. Some of the maps are OK, particularly some of the CTF offerings, but in general there's nothing here that isn't done vastly better by UT2004 and certainly by UT3. It's definitely true to say that Warpath does not even come close to making full use of the UT2004 engine. Hell, the original Unreal Tournament has better immersion than this does!Having more or less dismissed the single player game as a one-dimensional and uninspiring experience, I wanted to try it on-line. To be fair, I think Warpath has a chance of being reasonably fun on-line. Unfortunately I couldn't find a single server that was adequatley populated. It seems that Warpath will be consigned very quickly to the dusty shelves of FPS gaming history, never to see the light of day again. Best avoided.
