What does it smell like? If it's ashwaganda it should smell. I've bought a few fake products on amazon recently

If you bought KSM-66 specific ashwagandha then you threw out perfectly good product. The highly researched KSM-66 Ashwagandha is one of the forms that don't use alcohol or any synthetic solvents for the extraction process, likely why the taste and smell are less intrusive than other forms of ashwagandha. KSM-66 is superior as well because it is extracted from the roots only, whereas others (especially those fakes, but really just of less quality) will use the whole plant including the leaves, which are useless filler, have cytotoxicity (kills living cells). The leaves are standardize through the process, making their use safer but the benefits of the leaves and/or stems compared to the root of ashwagandha ... No comparison, just filler. You want the root. Also anything above 10% withanolide is also filler since 10% is the highest (Sensorial) but includes the leaves (standardized 0.5%) to achieve that percent. Still at 5% withanolide as in this bottle, is also very good and no cytotoxins in the process.
