The Powkiddy X55 came as expected, except the roms were absent. I contacted the seller, and they sent me a working Roms microSD from China free of charge. I have been using the system for a few months now and have not had any problems. I recommend this seller and this product! The Powkiddy x55 plays PSP and Playstation one pretty well. Higher-demand games like God of War will not work well, but most other games work great! You can play most 64-bit consoles like n64 pretty well, too. The screen is wide enough for most consoles to run at native aspect ratios. The shape of the handheld makes it comfortable for extended play sessions. It is also an excellent-looking handheld that is pleasing to the eyes. You will have some games that won't run well, but using auto-frame skip should help. If you need any help with custom firmware and such, there is an active community on Reddit, and Retro Game Corps on YouTube will also help.

Got it for my mother in law. I added some games to it. Which were Mario games. It didn’t come with any. Its selection was pretty nice. It’s probably the most comfortable handheld emulator we’ve used. You can’t charge it with any dash charging blocks. You need to use an older block. I think 5v. Overall really cool product

The device was easy to set up, I enjoyed the games that were preinstalled. In a fluke I had an sd card go bad in the first week. Just my bad luck, trust me it is par for the course for me. I contacted the seller and they were a true pleasure to deal with. My bad card was quickly replaced. Definitely recommend this seller.

1st the boot up screen when the system worked took 2-3 minutes to just get to the Home Screen.2nd it would freeze often and cause me to lose any progress I’ve made in a game forcing me to restart at last save.3rd I want to like this but it just won’t turn on now. It worked great for about a week other than the mentioned problem. I got past those. I played it a few times got 3/4 through the minish cap. I turned it off to charge it and when it tried to turn it back on to continue it is dead-ed. It Gets stuck on the “Jelos” boot up screen (pictured). I’ve tried all the trouble shooting methods besides reflashing the sd card. I should not have to re install the operating system less than a week after purchase when I’m spending $130.I read the reviews and did my research on YouTube and decided to purchase anyways cause I like the “switch design” and large screen. I thought no way it could be that bad but indeed it is that bad.Save yourself the headache and disappointment and just don’t buy this item, move on to a different product. The powkiddy x55 is not it. Powkiddy has a quality control problem and that's what's really holding this back. My device came out of the box with a screen burn in/ghosting and I noticed it immediately. If you can get one that's fully functional then it's worth a shot at the price but for a little more money you can get something comparable with better quality control.

The hardware seems fine, albeit a little lightweight build quality. The problem is that the software installed is not in a condition for release to retail sales, and the maker offers zero support for the product.Upon receiving it, the device took about 4 minutes to power on. This became a major problem as many games could not be exited except through a hardware restart.Others have stated that updating the OS would fix that, and other issues. Updating the OS through built in updating option broke the os...and despite fighting with it for hours I was unable to get the device operating again.Buyer beware
