Good
This has been accurate so far. Some of the test strips claim code Lo which is annoying when you have a giant blob of sample. So I'm not sure why it cones up with that. Anyway that means that strip is useless and wasted as it won't allow you to take it out and put back in. It will just come up with an error. So once you activate the test strip, don't remove it and put it back in or you lose it. So far I have used it 4 times a day for 2.5 days and 2 strips have also been waster due to Lo code. You have to wipe away the first blob of sample and test the second. You also shouldn't squeeze the blob out and only apply light preasure down the finger towards the lanced area to obtain a natural sample. As for value for money, the starter kit is reasonably good value for what you get, but overall it ends up not being good value for money due to how much the replacememt larnces and strips cost on a regular basis. There is a leaflet in the box to hand to your GP for prescriptions but when I went to my surgery to request, they told me I have to have been issued the moniter by NHS. But as my medical record show no such issue, I am not entitled to prescriptions for replacements. So yes, these are available on prescription but not all will be able to get a prescription for them. The finger lancet pen is good. It is not pain free but it isn't as painful as I expected it to be and not as painful as when the nurse with their one time use disposible ones. The reusable pen clearly makes a difference.I have thin skin so I only need it on 2+ - 3. It is easy to set up and use the pen.In short, good, reliable, but very expensive long term if you don't check you will have access to prescriotion before buying. Other test stripes won't work in it so you are left having buy the specific replacements for this item.

Very handy & they seem to perform well
These strips are easy to use once you know how and they seem to be accurate. All-in-all, we are very happy to use them as they only require a tiny speck of blood to activate but you do need to follow the instructions properly or else they won't register anything. They can't seem to give a reading if you don't touch them to your blood at the required angle. You can't just squeeze a droplet of blood onto the top of the strip - nor dip it downwards into your blood - you have to touch the strip to your bleeding finger straight on from the side, with the monitor held horizontally flat rather than downwards. This may seem obvious to many but to newbies getting familiar with the task of glucose monitoring, it's not immediately clear and I can't tell you the amount of strips we wasted by the time we figured it out! Lesson learned: always pay close attention to instructions!

Kinetik blood glucose monitor
This is the second monitor I have purchased, and I prefer this one more. It allows me to see the readings more clearly thanks to the luminated backlight. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a clear and accurate way to check their blood glucose.

Do not trust the delivery....
The product was excellent, have used it before. It was lucky I received it. The delivery left a lot to be desired. Not happy. Considering I have a blink door bell and a house door bell and I was at home, the parcel was left on the ground outside my door. Neither bell was rung. No attempt to hide the parcel behind a large obvious plant pot. Will not order your product again because of this...thank you

A useful little device
The media could not be loaded. I'm not diabetic and I want to avoid it at all cost. I've recently started measuring my blood sugar levels to see how certain foods influence my glucose metabolism. I'd already cut out sugar and refined carbs about a year ago, but I was getting hypoglycaemic episodes during exercise and long walks, so I decided to look into it. They seem to happen when I come down from a glucose spike, so I'm trying to flatten my curve by eating smaller portions more frequently and generally consuming fewer carbs. This little device helps me see my ups and downs if I measure my glucose just before meals and then in 30 mins intervals until it settles back to the baseline (which should happen within two hours). It's not as good as a CGM, obviously, but a lot more affordable. Replacement test strips and lancets are available at a reasonable cost.My video shows the device in action. I was a bit concerned about pricking my fingers at first, but honestly you can hardly feel it! A few tips: your ring finger is best for drawing blood and make sure your hands are nice and warm. In the video I had a bit of trouble, so I had to squeeze my finger to get some blood out as my hands were a bit cold. I'm not sure if this affects the accuracy of the measurement - apparently these type of devices tend to show lower figures than a CGM. If you think the result is not as you expected, you can always do another test straight after. I did that right after this and I got 4.3 just a couple of minutes later so it can't have been way off. You're supposed to wipe off the first drop of blood, but I think it's only when you use alcohol to sanitise the spot. I never do this as I'm glad to get just one drop out that's big enough to work. The device shows whether your levels are normal for FBG (fasting) and PBG (2 hours post-meal). The FBG levels are shown as normal between 4-6, however according to various resources on the internet, they should stay between 3.9-5.6. Always check the setting of the pen before using it as it can easily slide to a different setting! I have it set to 3, which works most of the time - you might need a higher setting, depending how tough your skin is. There's an eject button at the back of the device, but I normally just pull out the test strip. The machine automatically shuts off after 30 seconds. All in all I 'm very happy with this purchase for my research purposes, but keep in mind it may not be as accurate as a CGM.
