Nixies Swimming Mermaid Bella

My two girls, age 4 and 6, have one each of these mermaids. They are the first ones that actually do what you would expect - swim around in the water! The dolls take 1 AAA battery and have a propeller in the tail by the fin (as another reviewer said, take care of hair in the bath). You can bend the mermaid at the waist (human meets fish) and that way they can swim in all manner of directions. Bathtime has never been so much fun. We have had a super full bath with the mermaids doing somersaults under the water. They happily figure of 8 around the girls and depending where the bump, they change direction and seem to just have a life of their own. For the price, they are worth every penny and with Amazon Prime delivery, arrived next day. Absolutely delightful. If your child wants a specific mermaid, as we did in this case, it's worth paying the extra £1 or so to choose the one you want rather than taking a chance that you may get a duplicate from the set of 3.

Item had already had battery removed but cover had not been put back correctly. Disappoint about no battery but item on the whole is quite fun, two and half year old granddaughter loves loves loves it so would recommend it for bathtimes.

The battery compartment is a nightmare, very flimsy, the plastic almost seems to tear rather than break! Never worked.

My little girl loves this mermaid! It,s so much fun, especially in the bath where there is a lot more space for the mermaid to wizz about. (Take care around hair however, it would get tangled up quickly and tightly in the tail propellers.)

Battery compartment was shipped screwed down but jammed open at the "tag end", it looked like it was a lift fit rather than screw fit and in lifting it slightly it too easily snapped

This broke before my daughter could even play with it!

Bought this for my 3 year old niece,took it to the swimming pool,my little niece loved it and it got alot of attention from other kids.Definitely value for money.

Bought for my daughter. This lasted about five minutes in the bath before getting a piece of hair wrapped around its tiny propeller. Now I need to source an ultra tiny screwdriver in order to dismantle the doll and untangle the hair. It's a shame as it swims well in the bath, and would be a great pool toy for girls. It's the second one we have had, the first was broken on the battery cover and replaced instantly by Amazon. **Please also note that the doll is very small. It's only around 12cm long. I read reviews here warning me, so we were both aware it would be small, but I was still surprised at the size.
