How is the performance and battery life?

Performs very well! I put in two curtain rods with it. Battery stayed charged through both installations and still had power left.

Is it strong enough to screw in a screw into a metal frame that already has holes ready?

Yes! It comes with a piece to create holes as well. Just add a little pressure. I love it. Ive hung curtain rod and added a bracket to an L shape desk i did use the piece to create holes there. I used to create holes on arts in crafts project incase someone wanted to hang on wall.

Can you buy a replacement charging cord

It is simply a usb charging chord used on most android and rechargeable devices. I am sure you can purchase a replacement.

Why won't it charge? I've tried different cords, plugs and adapters. Useless if I can't charge the drill and it's only been 1.5 years

You should be able to charge it, I just charged mine a few weeks ago. Sounds like the drill may just be broken rather than a dead battery.
