Will not work for embedded machine wanting thumb drive. The machine will not recognize this unit -- windows recognizes it as a hub. The machine does not support a hub before the thumb drive.... Hence no work.

This worked great. I had tried something similar a few years ago and never got it to work. During Covid I wanted to make a zoom room and thought I would try again with a better product. I needed to install a webcam above my TV for Zoom calls and hook it into an old laptop in another room. I had an unused Cat5e running in the wall from my TV to my other room. These worked great to connect the USB webcam through the Cat5e to the USB on the computer. The webcam works seamlessly, even on an 8 year old laptop.

Bought this to use with my wife's Silhouette Cameo, and it works perfectly.

Needed to plug a laser printer through a USB port over a much longer distance than what USB cables allows to. First tried a cheaper USB 1.0 extender over Cat5/Cat6 cable but would not work at all even with a 1 meter long cable. This one works perfectly once the remote end is connected with the included power adapter, even over a 20-meter long Cat6 cable. Yes it is more expensive, but it's worth every pennies.

Extended our grand format solvent printer far far away to keep us safe from the fumes. Old usb cable only allowed us 20 feet distance... could still smell the fumes, this device allowed us to set up our laser engraver and solvent printer up to 5p feet or more away!

I use this for a webcam about 40 feet away from my computer. Worked immediately when plugged into my mac.
