Perfect book to introduce kids to the Bard. 7 years and over generally.
My 9 year and I love this book. The plays are all four pages long. Very colorful. Story easy to follow and simple. Audience reactions and pic down side are funny and shows how plays were enjoyed at the time. Great read out load. Not to heavy. Was very surprised how much my son remembered and loved Hamlet as lots of dying. My son likes to read but my husband was surprised he enjoyed Shakespeare. Great home ed tool as well. Soft back book so although A4 is easy to travel with.

Great for promoting children’s interest and understanding
Cartoon style rather fussy for my taste but the children like it and that’s what matters. Gives useful overview of stories and characters to aid understanding of the plays therefore enhancing enjoyment.

Very concise overviews but an ultimate winner despite 'bits' missing. Great book, perfect for all ages. Buy the Book!!
I loved the concept of this book and was extremely happy with it.The reason for the 4 stars instead of 5, is that it was just a little too short - and another 2 pages extra per play would have achieved a more rounded view of the play and a 'Perfect' score (which I rarely give out on books). All in all, this is suitable for young kids, teenagers and also adults who feel they should be interested in Shakespeare but have neither the time nor the inclination to sit through an entire play or adult book - this childlike cartoon approach allows you to know the 'bones' of the story from which you can decide whether to delve deeper or not.I originally purchased this book to go with a necklace for my daughter which had a Midsummer Nights Dream quote on it of 'She may be small but she is fierce'. This is a well known quote (apparently) but it wasn't quoted in this book which was kinda my whole idea for buying it at first. However I think it's a winner regardless :-)

Comic style Shakespeare stories
This is a great way to introduce children to Shakespearere as this is an accessible style for them to read and understand. If they don't like or enjoy a story there is always another one to move onto! The language is adapted into a style children will understand and these are great fun to read.An ideal addition for any child's library.

Excellent book.
This is an excellent book for introducing kids to the Bard. The cartoon style will make kids lap up the stories and look for more when the real plays are taught to them in school. The version of Hamlet was spot on and covered all the key aspects of the play in four pages.
