I looked and researched air purifiers for a couple weeks after our old one quit performing. I kept coming back to this Shark and bit the bullet and paid the $300 for it. After the first day of running it, I had zero regrets! It works perfectly! We have it in our living room which is off of our kitchen and we keep it on AUTO. When we’re cooking, the Shark will drop from 100 where our air was clean, the fan will kick up a notch or two, depending on how low the numbers went, and it really will clean the cooking orders out! We have allergies and this has helped a lot! We own a home that is over 100yrs old and I used to go around the house dusting all the time and I notice there’s barely any dust on my furniture. I also notice if I spray Febreze air freshener or fabric refresher that the Shark senses it and will kick on and suck my air freshener out. lol I love Scentsy and their wax melts so when I use the one that is closest to the Shark I will just turn the air purifier off for a while because it will sense it and drop to yellow or even red and kick the fans on and clean the nice smell right out of the living room where I have that one sitting. Not complaining, but sometimes I like to smell my Scentsy! Also, there’s different speeds that the fan will run on and even on the highest speed it’s not loud at all. My house has never smelled so clean. We have two 70lb boxers and it has helped tremendously with having pets. When I’m gone for hours and come home, I notice that I don’t smell any signs of owning a dog when I walk into the house and my husband said the same thing when he came home from work the first night we owned it. There’s a light up ring around the numbers on the front that will be green when it’s clean, turn yellow when it’s getting bad and turn red when it’s really bad. We leave ours on AUTO so we don’t have to do anything, the Shark does the air cleaning for us. The never change filter is huge plus! Those filters can be so expensive so it’s nice that we don’t have that expense a couple times a year! The only thing that I’d say would be a “con”, if you want to call it that, and we honestly don’t even care about it, is that air freshener thing on top of the machine. We have never smelled anything come from that and I doubt we will buy new replacement neutralizer cartridges for it. I don’t see the point of it. I don’t see, or smell rather, where it does anything. I hope I covered everything and my review helped you make a decision on your purchase. I’m just an ordinary person with pets and an older home that PAID $300 for this machine and did not receive it for free to write a review like others do with stuff. My review is just our honest opinion that I wanted to share because we like it so much. It works GREAT! Better than any air purifier that we have owned in 30yrs. If you’re looking to buy a new air purifier for your home, I highly recommend this Shark! We sat the empty box in the office and thought we would hold on to it for the 30 days that we have to return something to Amazon just in case we didn’t like it but we threw it away the first week we used it.

My daughter has 2 cats with very concentrated urine. We have tried everything to include special litter, flowing water, auto litter box. Even though these all helped, it wasn't until I finally purchased this item for my large living area where the box was at that I know longer smelt anything. I might get and occasional whiff of something but it quickly vanishes. Also, fish smell - GONE. It does have a nice HEPPA filter so helps with allergies. I like it can sense the air quality and adjust the fan to increase the intake until it is clear. Great job overall. Not sure about the longevity of the item, from what I reviewed, there are mixed sentiments. Love this device already. Highly recommend it.

Bought one of these in November 2023 and a second one shortly afterwards. Controls are conveniently placed on top where you can easily see them. We programmed the one in our bedroom to run on low at night so it doesn't wake us. I don't pay a lot of attention to the sensors and I am not sure how accurate they are. The proof for me is the debris I vacuum off the unit's filters (including the HEPA) once a month, which is considerable. I could really tell the difference in air quality after using it for just a few days. To test out the first unit, we deep cleaned a particularly dusty room and ran it there to see how well it would cut particulates/dust. It made a huge difference. Before we got the Shark, and even with our other air filters running, we could write our name on furniture within a single day or so of dusting (old house). This unit has dramatically cut the need to dust and vacuum in this room, and we definitely breathe better. I have tried several other expensive brands including Blueair. The latter is much larger and very loud by comparison and just does not work as well unless I run it on high nonstop. The Shark is a very intelligent design. It pulls air in like a vortex through fins on the sides that direct air across a wide swath of filter material. Kind of reminds me of hood scoops on cars. Most other devices I have tried have little holes on the sides and most seem to draw area through the filter material. The Blueair units that we have pull air from the floor surface through the middle of the unit and expel from the top. None that we have tried previously are as effective as the Shark. I have had excellent luck with Shark vacuums and own three of those, so I was thrilled to discover they made an air filter that works as well as their vacuums. Super impressed with this particular product and they are both working great after 4 months. We don't use the "odor control" disc as I don't like the indoor air pollution of air fresheners. You can turn them to an off position but we just don't install them at all and it doesn't affect operation. I don't understand some of the critical comments about how these don't work. You are not going to get a "clean room" research lab quality environment for plus or minus $300 and it might have something to do with placement. If you have smells that have permeated your walls and flooring, this is not going to fix that. This is a well priced consumer product that works great for most needs if you are looking to pull particulate matter out of the air. We have one in a very large eat in kitchen/family room and another in a master bedroom. They handle the dander and debris of several dogs and two birds plus typical household dust very well.
