McFarlane Toys - DC Super Powers Superman: Reborn 4.5in Action Figure

I am an adult collector so I purchased Superman for my growing collection. McFarland makes some amazing figures and the Super Powers collection is a nice tribute to the originals from the 1980s. Nice sculpts and simple designs - toys that are fun. What made the original Kenner line so special was that each figure had a "Power Action" - Superman had a Power Action Punch which made this toy line unique and loved. Wishing McFarland could have incorporated this feature into the new designs. That's just my take, but this Superman is still super

I love this purchase! I know some reviewers have stated that this item is cheap and poor quality. However, you need to know what you are buying. This figure is part of a toy line that is a replicated toy line of the original Super Powers toy line by a company called Kenner. Kenner was brought by the Hasbro company some years ago. I am so thankful to McFarlan toys for bringing this toy line back. I have not taken my figure out of the package yet. However, I will say it looks cheap, but it is important to remember that this toy is meant to be a replica. There are some important differences from this figure and the original. The original figures all had some action movement that was specific to that character. This figure to my knowledge does not do anything but it does have posable legs. The original figures also came with a miniature comic book, this one does not. The original figures had a cut-out card on the package which gave a brief bio of that character. This figure does have a cut-out on the package, but it just gives the Superman slogan in multiple languages. The Superman figure I purchased has the new costume, but it looks like the original costume figure is available in this toy line. The original Super Power toy line brought me so much joy as a kid. The reason I purchased this figure is because I heard you had to celebrate even your small successes in life. I have been going through some tough times in school and I just wanted to be a little selfish and buy something for me that would put a smile on my face. It did more than that. It brought me back to the time of being a little boy and watching those Super Power commercials and seeing the action figures in the toy store for the first time. All of those feelings came rushing back to me. I am very happy with my purchase.

I found the matching Supermobile on clearance at Walmart so I snagged the Superman figure from here -- all I could ever find at Walmart was every figure from this series *but* Superman, of course! Solid little figure, though. Good, affordable addition to any collection. I remember some figures I had as a child that had capes that snapped around the neck like this, so +points for nostalgia!

These new Super Powers figures are a perfect throwback to the originals. They make great gifts to the collector in your family and are great for kids. The articulation is nice and the colors really pop.

Package containing the action figure showed up with multiple bends and looks like it was run over. Must've been put into the shipping box this way, because the shipping box was in perfect condition. Unsatisfied and not what I paid for.
