Awesome lock with very little friction during daily use.
So a great child lock should keep the kids out while making it simple for adults to get in. This does that in many ways. The seller provides a great installation video to go with their written instructions. Definitely watch that for tips! I had a cabinet door with embedded pins that I didn’t know about. That kept the locks open due to the magnet inside the lock being attracted to the metal pins. The seller helped me with the installation and we got it to function as expected! (A+ for seller support) As for daily use, I especially enjoy these locks because the door or drawer will not open far enough to pinch fingers. Other locks require you to be able to open the door an inch or so to stick your own finger in to push down the latch. That’s just demonstrating to your little ones on how to get their own fingers pinched. Terrible idea. This magnetic lock only allows the door to open a quarter of an inch at most, thus reducing the pinch hazard. Also during daily use, these locks can be opened one handed. I installed them close to the handle of the doors, so if you’re simply holding the magnet in your hand, you can use a finger to pull open the door. This is especially awesome when you’re putting pots and pans away. The two doors that I couldn’t put the locks by the handle, I bought additional magnet holders and stuck them on the cabinet door. This way, I can stick the magnet on the holder which unlocks the lock and keeps the magnet there while I can open the door with the same hand. Just don’t forget to remove the magnet once done. The other ace for these locks is the ability to turn them off. You may think this is a small feature but it’s huge when you know the kids are out of the kitchen and you have a 3 course meal or spring cleaning to do. I just recently had to work on the sink, simply disable the locks for the evening. Also when we don’t need them anymore, I’m just turning them all off instead of uninstalling them. It is now a permanent feature of this house for the next owner! The last little bonus is that it is mother-in-law proof. Watching her figure out where the lock is with the magnet is quite entertaining (I didn’t use those indicator butterfly stickers). I was trying to tell her to leave the kitchen cleanup to me but she won’t relax and sit down. That got her to sit after 2 minutes at the cabinets. Get the locks. Spend the time to install it right and you’ll be super happy with it. Good luck! Ps: I put two locks in opposing ends of the door at the liquor cabinet. Two magnets are required so you’ll have to know where the second magnet is. They’re also set into the cabinet an extra half inch, so only the super powerful magnets that came with the kit works. The kiddy mags on the fridge won’t open it. Am I setting myself up for failure? Probably. But if I’m that desperate to get in, I’ll find a way. Or go to an AA meeting. Or get some spare magnets. Yea I’m ordering spare magnets now...

Best baby locks I've tried so far!
I was slightly skeptical when I bought these, thinking that maybe the adhesive wouldn't be strong enough or that it would be a pain to remember to grab the magnetic key every time I need to get into my cabinets. I'm so glad I tried them anyways -- they are by far my favorite baby lock (and I've tried 4 different brands/styles so far). I found these easy and pretty intuitive to install, despite the instructions being a little confusing. (For example, the pictures/diagrams are all numbered, but they're not necessarily the installation steps you're supposed to take in numbered order -- plus, the numbers 3 and 4 are missing, which makes you feel like *you're* missing something... but I think it's just a typo rather than actual information not being there.) Regardless, I installed the locks with no problem just using common sense and a bit of trial and error. I only had to sacrifice one lock during the process, and that was my fault because I didn't realize that I was putting the adhesive over an imperfect/raised part of the wood. I've waited 2 weeks since installing these locks before leaving this review, so I could attest to their functionality. They're still working great -- my (strong) 1 year old son has not been able to pull off the adhesive despite yanking on the cabinet doors frequently and persistently. It only took me about 3 days to get used to grabbing the magnetic key before trying to open the cabinet... now it's pretty much habit and doesn't seem like a very big inconvenience. In the kitchen, I keep the magnetic key on the refrigerator. (Bonus: I used a sharpie to write "CLEAN" on the kitchen key, so now it doubles as a sign to indicate whether or not our dishwasher is clean, meaning my husband and I are no longer on the brink of divorce every time he loads dirty dishes into a clean dishwasher, or puts dirty dishes onto the shelves thinking they're clean! ;) For a while I was puzzled over the small magnetic disks that came with the magnetic "keys". Since I was using mine only in the kitchen at first, I didn't understand why you'd need these. However, they're actually ingenious -- if you happen to be using these locks in a room without a refrigerator (or other obviously magnetic surface) you can adhere these disks to the wall, etc. and instantly create a magnetic "home" for the key. Excellent attention to detail in the design of this product! Overall, these are fantastic. They work well, and are very clever and unobtrusive. We live in an apartment so it's been nice not having to tear up all the cabinets with screw holes, and I love not having to jam my fingers down into an inch of space to trigger the unlocking function like you have to do with most other baby locks. Oh, and there's an "unlocking" function that you can easily switch on for after your baby goes to bed, so adults are not having to constantly grab the key. Such a great, thoughtful invention -- baby locks have come a long way!

Super easy! Barely an inconvenience!
So you have a review for me? Yes sir I do! I was thinking I could install some child cabinet safety locks to keep my baby out of the kitchen cabinets. These locks installed great! I was able to install them right side up as shown in the photos for the product, but I was ALSO able to install these locks upside down and on their sides and they still work great. The magnetic feature makes them completely invisible from the outside so if you don’t want anyone to know they are there, they don’t have to know. The package does include some small cute butterfly stickers so you can place them on the outside of the cabinet to indicate where you should hold the magnet to unlock when needed, but I opted not to use them as I prefer the cleaner look without the stickers. I know where I placed the locks after all. As for the magnet “keys” that are used to unlock the cabinets, the package comes with two included, and magnetic mounts to “store” or “hold” them when not actively using them. The mounts just like the locks also use 3M PE Foam stickers to adhere to whatever flat smooth surface you’d like to place them. HOWEVER since these magnet keys are magnets I opted to just put them on the fridge and they will hold just fine there. Additionally, really any sufficiently strong magnet should be able to unlock the cabinets so if you misplace the magnet keys that come with the set, just use another fairly powerful magnet and you should be fine. As for the locks themselves, they are super easy to install. Barely an inconvenience. I recommend reading the instructions and watching the video so you can know how to use the installation guide mount. I missed it on the first one I installed, but even without that, it came out ok. It’s much easier and quicker with the guide mount used properly though, so again, I highly recommend using that instead. The really neat thing about the locks is that they can be turned on or off as shown in the product images. To turn them on, you just “flip the switch” so to speak and it allows the hook to descend and allows it to catch the other part mounted on the inside of the cabinet. Again it doesn’t matter what orientation you mount the lock in because the hook will work right-side-up, upside-down, or any side you put it on. Mounting locks on the side is tight! As for the strength of the locks/adhesive, I have to say they/it all seems very strong. Haven’t had an issue with them yet. My child hasn’t really pulled very hard at them just yet, but judging by me pulling on them they shouldn’t come off by any means. Wow wow wow, WOW!

So far it seems these will work
I have to start by saying I have only installed one so far and it seems that it will work perfectly with some trial and error. I love that the catch can be installed right to the edge cabinet face without affecting the door shutting all of the way. My cabinet doors are about 1.25in thick where I stuck the device and the magnet works no problem. I would highly recommend testing that the latch opens and closes before sticking it in place. When I originally stuck the device, it opened just fine with the magnet, but the lock would not return to the lock position. I figured it was just a faulty unit so I stuck a different one on. Same issue. After much frustration I came to the conclusion that something in that part of my cabinet doors must be magnetic (near the handle) because when moving the device about 0.5 inches in either direction the latch magically returns to the lock position and it works perfectly. I did a test pull and it worked. I then put it through more "intense" durability testing as I figured it would take a while to get used to having these installed and I'd most likely be yanking on these before grabbing the magnet. The sticky tape would not hold up to my brute man strength. I will mention though that I was being lazy and didn't use the alcohol wipes prior to sticking so there's a great chance the surface was just not clean. Either way, I never really intended to trust adhesive tape in a safety related application so I'll be shooting screws into all of the locks/latches. I'd give 5 stars if they used 3M tape, but they didn't. The fact that the lock can be bypassed easily is extremely convenient when working in the kitchen and was the main reason I chose these. Overall seems to be a great choice!

Stop your search, these are the ones!
I’ve tried multiple different child locks throughout the years and these are the best functioning and easiest to install that I’ve ever used. Just got some more cabinets in the house and ordered more of these locks. Highly recommend.

Skip it. These aren't made well anymore.
I bought two sets of these six years ago when my first was little. They worked great. Easy to install, eat to use. We're not in the same house anymore and I couldn't find the old ones so I bought a new set. These are garbage. I worked on installing on one door for an hour and couldn't understand why they old stayed locked half the time. Then I tested them just with the magnet not installed on a door and discovered that they didn't always go back to the locked position when I removed the magnet. I felt insane, and I was sure the old ones were nothing like this. Well, my husband was sure he removed the prior set before we moved so he dug through the garage and found the old ones and yeah, same basic design and idea, but the old ones actually work. The part that engages the lock on the new ones just doesn't pop up half the time when you remove the magnet. I tried to buy from the same company as before thinking that would ensure they were just as effective as before and I was wrong.

Did not work for our cabinets
In theory, these look like a good product but practically speaking they did not work for the types of cabinets that we have. And by the way the the adhesive on the installation strike is very weak.
