I have a decent tool kit when it comes to most jobs around the house but one thing I have never owned for some reason is a pair of long nosed pliers, I have a large set of pliers and a stub nosed pair so I thought I’d order the Zeguard Sharp-tec Long Nose Pliers to complete the set. They arrived in a zip-lock plastic bag – nothing fancy and no card with details etc, and when removed from the bag they seem pretty well made, the red an black plastic handles have a grip that is slightly soft and allows you to get decent purchase. The jaws from the wire cutter to the end are 40mm whilst the wire cutting area is a further 1cm in length whilst the tool overall is 140mm in length and 58mm at their widest point. They do cut well when tasked and the grab and hold through the serrated part of the jaws is excellent, a solid pair of pliers at a decent price.

I got the 8" wire cutters and the handles have a soft but durable rubbery texture so they are comfortable to hold.They work well for stripping the insulation off thicker wires but the jaws seem to be slightly misaligned so they don't really cut thin wire well.The way the handles have been molded also means that the jaws don't touch unless you squeeze the pliers slightly which I don't like. To solve this I plan on sanding back the top part of the handles to allow the jaws to close fully.Overall they work ok but I think I might have received a set of cutters that slipped through quality control because other than the slight issues I have mentioned above they do feel durable.

They have plastic handles that fit a small hand better than it fits mine - but can use them one-handed for most tasks.The nose grip is fine for most work and the wire-cutting section is sharp and it is easy to cut both thin wire and plastic-coated thin wire. Have not used them as yet on more challenging thicker wire.The price of £8.88 is more or less similar to other options available on Amazon.Overall ordinary pliers - that work fine.
