Purchased FOUR of these! Will be returning the 3 unused ones. Journal is BIG...sheets are EXACTLY the size of copy paper 8 x 11. More of a thick Notebook than a Journal. I was not expecting that. I thought it was smaller, like a 7 x 9 size that could be carried along with a Bible to church. This is really big!!. THE binding along the glued edge is a problem as it starts to frey. It's only glued with a thin layer. Nothing really to hold the sheets in. Once I start turning the pages to write in them, the crease forms on the front cover and lifts up the cover and the pages that were folded in order to write also start lifting up. It does NOT lay flat for writing. It is very cheaply made in my opinion and NOT worth $12.95 for sure. The Purple color is NOT as dark as it looks. I thought it was more of a RICH, DEEP Purple. For $12.95, I'm going back to the Markings by C.R.Gibson. They are only 7x9 sized with 400 pages. The smaller size is perfect for Bible study; journaling and easier to carry and the binding is made alot better then Matthew's Journals. Even the cheaper CaseMate Leatherette Journals made by Walmart with 400 lined pages have better binding than Matthew's Journal. Very disappointed. Getting tired of spending money for stuff that is cheap!!.I added 6 pictures to my review. Hopefully they will be shown under Reviews for this Journal.

This is my second journal. I bought the first one to be a journal. The second one I purchased for the PE Exam and to use for my studying and working problems. You are not allowed to bring loose papers in and I didn't want to deal with a binder. I wanted something like a grade school comp book to keep track of my work in. The journal has been perfect for this. I am planning to buy another one for work. I highly recommend this product for people who like comp books, but the ones you get for 0.89 in school supplies are just not big enough to be useful. Plus, the solid cover makes this look classy enough that I can use it at work. I did use a comp book at work and it doesn't set the right tone for me. Great product! Thanks!

I love this journal, especially with 400 pages. Not many affordable journals have this many pages. It's perfect for a book I want to write about MY Life Story. Excellent journal for the price & the size. Luv it!!!

This notebook is so big that it's almost impossible to use and it makes writing on the back side of the page very difficult for the first portion of the book. Its large size makes it awkward to use. Would have been better if it was smaller paper instead of regular notebook paper

This is not a hardback book. I returned it. And the front should say “Journal” not “Journals.”
