How far apart are the front legs ?

The legs are 19 1/2”x33” from outside to outside. Hope this helps.

Can the tub be used on the ground without the legs?

The legs fold up under the table flat like a grooming table so you could use it like that, but the legs don't come off.

Can you reccomend a great and suitable portable step for this bathtub?

We are using the back porch stoop to get them in and out of the tub. But before we decided that I was looking at some steps. The ones I thought were most stable I was looking at through a hardware store and they’re pretty expensive.

How does this compare to the Booster Bath LARGE size?

This is a great tub . It’s nice and big folds up to put away . And it’s very sturdy . I looked at booster tub and passed on it . This is a better choice cost more but better in every way . I’m happy with my Shelandy 45 . 5 Star !!!
