This helps us to keep the garden free from NEW weeds. Existing weeds need to be removed or killed since this product works to prevent new weeds from sprouting. It also helps with preventing weeds from growing in the cracks of our block pavers. It easy to spread and seems like a good value

I was desperate for something to help with Japanese Stiltgrass. Even after buying and applying Preen I kept waiting for it to fail. But it didn’t. I applied it in February since weeds start early in the South. You can see from the photos what the treated area looks like in June vs. the untreated area. It’s a dramatic difference. Yes, there’s one little stiltgrass in the treated photo…I must not have gotten the preen quite close enough to the bird feeder post. But there’s a few hundred that aren’t there at all. I assure you, that Preen was well worth the price and I will keep using it! I wish I had tried it several years ago. Edited to add….this prevents weeds from growing from seed and does a great job. The reviews complaining that it doesn’t kill weeds or prevent perennial weeds from growing missed that it isn’t supposed to do that. Which is good for me because I want my perennial flowers and bushes to come back, just not the stilt grass which is an annual.

I bought the 13.75lb container. There is a pull tab on the lid which is supposed to allow you to tear off the part of the lid that seals it to the container. Mine came about 1/2 way off and then broke leaving the other 1/2 in place and extremely difficult to remove. The scoop was buried about 1/2 way down the container. I had to fish for it. The scoop is just stupid. It has holes in the bottom of it and the product drops all over the place through the holes even when you don't want it to. I threw it away and just used a small plastic container and grabbed a handful at at time and spread it manually. It is very difficult to spread this on a large area without overlapping or missing spots. I am not wasting my money on this stuff again even if it works. I will just spot spray weeds with Roundup when they appear.

This stuff works great!! No weeds at all! I was very surprised by how well it controlled the weeds!
