These Carabiners are awesome. Use them on my Flagpole and my different Backpacks. They are durable and well made. The black coating was what I was looking for.

Well built, stronger than aluminum.
I’m giving this 5 stars. I had originallyConsidered taking a star off for the weight, but I realized this was my issue in selection. Not a fault of the manufacturer. Note that it is heavier than an aluminum equivalent, but it is considerably stronger.I’m using this mainly to hold golfTowels on a golf bag. The smaller aluminum carabiner toggle springs fail with use as they are not strong enough for routine use. The largerSize of this carabiner leaves little clearanceTo put the former on the golf towel through the hole. Again not an issue of the carabiner. It is my fault for not measuring more carefully. I have written about this items in the event it will help other. I have kept and am using them.

Heavy duty, but also "heavy."
These are heavy-duty carabiners, and are quite solid. Wouldn't use them for actual climbing. But if you want something that will stand some strain, these are a great value. They ARE heavy, so if you are into "lightweight thru hiking" for holding things onto your pack, get something lighter (these would be over-kill).
