Just what I needed to run some EU devices in the US - Super Happy with it!
TL:DR; If it lasts (seems great), this is an amazing deal!! Beware the weight. Might not really be full 800W.Highly recommended.First off, this thing is a heavy beast. Super solid. It says it's under 8lbs, but it feels like 20, lol. I wouldn't put it in a suitcase with anything breakable. But if it was anything other than super solid and heavy, it would be very suspicious. For my case, I've got some really cool devices that run off of 220V - desoldering irons, scopes, etc. that won't work at 110 and must have the correct EU frequency and voltage. This works perfectly. Nothing to it.I also have some musical gear -a 100W guitar amp that can take 220V input and a musician friend recommended that setting for better sound. I've had no way to test it until now and I have to say it works very well. As bad as power can be in venues, it's probably a good idea to use something like this although I'd worry (just a little) that bad input power could hurt it.Another reviewer mentioned that it would be better if it had a fan. I hadn't even thought of that and I ran this for hours every day for over a week. I guess in some cases (higher wattage usage) it would be important for that, but not for my uses. And I'm glad it doesn't have a potentially annoying fan coming on when using a scope on audio gear. And at this price, getting a small fan to use with it would still be a great deal.A big bonus is the opposite use - to be able to power US 110V musical gear in the EU. A touring band could run all their gear from home through this. and then have it for the hotel room to plug in all your electronics and stuff. For normal casual travelling though, the weight is a factor. And finally, I have searched a long time for a good high wattage voltage transformer at a reasonable price. One that I have is step down only 220V-110V and it cost over $300 (and weighs almost as much) and I have another that is up/down but only up to 150W and it was $250.To me, this is a FANTASTIC price. Shocking, really. As I write this it's $75.99 with a 15% discount which is some sort of math that leads to less than $75.99 - it would be worth it to me at double that price. And as a warning, it's been my experience with cheaper gear like this that while it can be reliable, it might not be spec'd out the same way US made/approved gear would be, so I would take the max number (800W) with a grain or two of salt. Maybe 600W. I don't have anything to back that up on this particular unit, I didn't take it apart and test it, it's just based on experience. Another thing to be aware of is that the grounding path may not be done the same way that it is done here. If that's a concern, be sure to have your device (this or any other) checked by someone qualified. My test on this showed proper grounding continuity.Fantastic unit. Highly recommended.

Pretty good, a fan would have made it perfect
I am a broadcast engineer and I have 2 sites where I could use my 220 volt power amplifiers, but only have 110 volt outlets. I got this a to try as a means of powering some of my gear in emergency use situations where 220 volt power is not available to me.I do get a good 220 volts measures with a volt meter, and the adapter cables allow my to plug in my gear without having to make custom cables or having to hunt down additional cables online. It worked without issue on my 50 watt power exciter, but when using my 750 watt power amplifier, it did trip the circuit breaker once during a brief power dropout. I'm not sure if that's the fault of the transformer, or related to a current surge by my equipment. It works well enough that I keep it in my truck. Given my positive tests I keep it handy should I need it in an emergency.

Works great (EU to US)
This transformer works great and is easy to use. I really appreciate the power switch on the transformer itself so that I can use that to cut power versus constantly unplugging things. I am using this in Europe (we are a military family stationed here) with my US appliances. Our electric rice cooker is the appliance I judge most by, since any problems with the electrical current would cause the rice to be cooked improperly, but I have had no issues. It doesn't make any noise, at least that I can hear, and it doesn't get hot. I am excited that I will also be able to use it when we move back to the US (note that I have NOT yet had the opportunity to test US to EU), to run my European appliances, especially our fancy Italian coffee machine ;-).Overall, I am happy with the quality and utility of this transformer, and would definitely order it again.

My MD is working again
Works great with my laptop, and music players that use 220V as the input. Especially, it saved my ancient MD (mini disk) and all my music from 20 years ago. When I was discussing how the technology of music players involved with my son. I realized that I used to have a SONY MD that I brought from abroad where the charger is using 220V as the input. This converter did a perfect job to charge and save the life of my music player and my son was shocked when he saw I placed a mini disk into a machine and music could come out of it.This converter is easy to use with one button to switch the mode. It also works from 220V to 110V but it might be too heavy to take on the plane since it is about 7 pounds. It is a well-made converter which I could easily tell from the material and finishing. The capacity (800w) is also good enough for laptops, toothbrushes, and other small appliances. I really love it.
