They aren't the most sturdy plates of all, but their look makes up for that. I paired with a larger matte black dinner plate and they look sooooo cool!

When I saw these I was nervous about ordering them. They look gorgeous and unique but I feared they might be hard to care for. I lived a few years in Italy and these immediately reminded me of all the incredible dinner pieces and art they had. I don’t have any black dinnerware and figured these would be a great contrast to certain food.My biggest fear was them arriving broken. I don’t live far from a lot of fulfillment centers but I have received so may broken dishes. I don’t know if it is the carriers or packing. I am convinced it is both. I noticed these are selling in bulk on other sites for upscale restaurants. I pulled in my packages and forgot these were on one of them. I opened a box that was so well wrapped, it was the plates. It appears the manufacturer packs them with a ready to ship label and Amazon boxes them after that. My rating does not factor into the review since we are not supposed to rate the shipping but I have to say I was so pleased with how these are wrapped. Thick bubble wrap and they wrapped well.After I held them in my hands in amazement, I was amazed at the details! Cobblestone plates, who would have thought of that? I looked for imperfections but there were none to be found. I was shocked at how well they all looked. I decided to place them in the dishwasher. I was nervous. I usually wash delicate plates by hand but wanted to see if these held up to the claim of being dishwasher safe. They washed perfectly! Big relief right there, they have a nice weight to them. I felt like I was holding gorgeous jewelry and might break it. I then placed some food on the plate and tried it in the microwave, warmed up just fine.I decided to place these down for lunch plates. I had guests stopping by. I decided not to mention the plates, wanted to see their reactions. My guests were in awe! A lot of “wow” “gorgeous!” These can be used as lunch plates, dessert plates, or a small dinner plate if needed. I love presentation when serving so I tried to go for a contrast. I served a pasts dish with a lot of color vegetables which looked incredible. I feared my fork would scratch the surface, but it didn’t. I even tried to scratch it, it did not scratch. If you think that certain food might get stuck in the uneven surface of the plate, no the case.I guess I am easily amused because these plates are fascinating! I am glad there are six because I usually serve four. I have two that knowing my luck; I will break one somehow and be devastated. I know I can order more though. I was hesitant but so glad I ordered them. Honestly, these are the most awesome plates I have seen!

This 6 piece set in the 8.25" salad or dessert plate size is incredibly hip looking. I have not seen anything like these before, although the TechnoCeram, which they are made of is, basically a form of vitrified or vitreous ceramic. That is used in any diner you walk into, and the reason it is so popular is that it is extremely durable. Although these plates are thinner than the china I just mentioned, they will be durable too, I expect.I look forward to using this set of 6 plates and daydreaming of collecting the dinner size in a different color, for fun! I would probably go for the brown!Why do I love dinner ware so much? Because I used to sell it as my summer job in New York City. I still remember how pretty and fascinating I found it.This D&V 6 Piece TechnoCeram is futuristic looking and has tons of designer flair, in my opinion.

I LOVE these plates from D&V! They are truly beautiful.These are salad plates and measure 8 1/4", but we use that size plates for dinner as portion control.I have the black color and they have a matte finish that's hard fired so they are resistant to cuts and scratches from your knife. They are unique because they have a raised texture that resembles tiny stones. I was a little hesitant to get these because I wondered if food would be hard to clean from between the raised pebble texture but I have no problems with that at all.These are dishwasher safe. The manufacturer says they are microwave safe however they get hot in the microwave so be careful when getting a plate of food out.These are so striking and elegant on the table! Really beautiful. They make even the simplest meal look wonderful. They are kind of expensive IMO, but because there are 6 in the package, I'm going to buy one more set because my family is large. If you like the looks of them, as I do, you'll be pleased with how well they are made.

These plates are unique and beautiful. I love the pebble-like texture and the black matte finish as they have an artisan feel to them. They make dinner feel a little more special. I love rich, deep colors, but I had never considered black for dinnerware. These plates have made me reconsider adding black to the color scheme.They are holding up well to daily use. They are sturdy without being too heavy. Utensils don't leave any marks on the plates. They are easy to clean either by hand or in the dishwasher. Even though these plates are really textured, the food doesn't get caught in the texture.The only real negative for me is that these get very hot in the microwave even though they are microwave safe. If you're going to heat things up on these plates, do so with caution as you could get burned. I ended up using silicone oven mitts the few times that I warmed food up as it was just too hot for me to handle without them.While these 8.25" plates are considered salad/dessert plates, we use them for smaller meals in addition to salad and dessert.

The D&V 6 Piece Cobble TechnoCeram Dinnerware Plate Set, 8.25", in Matte Black shows a modern play on dishware. Packaging was superior, with a box inside a box and plenty of high end bubble wrap. It was easy to unpack and extract the plates without much risk of dropping them.The flat black cobble pattern with a flat (low rise) plate looks great and feels substantial and durable. The size is true to form, at 8.25" this is a medium sized plate that works for desserts and pieces of pizza, but buy up a size for a true dinner sized plate. I do love the way these look and would love to get the dinner plate version and any other pieces that match this particular pattern!
