Smart Pool 4i Floor and Cove Pool Cleaner

I recently purchased a Smart Pool 4i pool cleaner from Amazon. I was a little bit skeptical because of the relatively inexpensive price tag compared to others with the same features. In ground robotic pool cleaners can easily exceed $800 - $1000 price tag. The unit started doing a fantastic job but would shut off prematurely. Its designed to run approx. 2 hrs with auto shut off. I then contacted Amazon and they immediately emailed me a return shipping label. The problem was they were sold out and could not replace it. So I decided to call the manufacturer Smart Pool customer support out of NJ. I spoke to JoAnn (mgr /specialist) who was efficient, pleasant and very knowledgeable. After some trouble shooting she decided to replace the unit. I sent her proof of purchase and received a shipping return label. They shipped me a newer model the "Pro-Kleen (PK100) robotic pool cleaner. It has a intelligent navigation system and does a fantastic job cleaning my pool and walls. Had it for just under one year and I can't get warranty information out of it....it just stopped working. We really liked it for the first year and handled it ever so carefully each time (based on reviews and instructions). I can't get it repaired without having to pay for it. It is kind of lightweight but it motored around the pool nicely...then it started acting up...troubleshooting suggestions didn't help correct anything. Shame for the money I paid for it.

Called company first said it doesn’t climb and could not have put the holes in my liner. Holes that were at every support where it protrudes into oval pool. Then they admitted that it does climb partially. I didn’t take picture do they would do nothing. I had hoped for a unit that doesn’t climb in exchange. They said they all do it. DO NOT BUY FOR ABOVE GROUND POOLS. My local pool store says you should buy a cleaner that does not climb at all.I have not yet called the company and I'm not sure I will because I cant prove that the robot destroyed my pool liner, but it seems pretty obvious. The 4 year old liner had tears in it in the same place all around the oval above ground pool. The tears were located on each side of where the supports are along the long side of the oval. That's where the robot climbs up the side of the pool. It rubs there because the supports protrude into the pool just enough. The holes were in the same place on the liner at every support column.A pool store told me this weekend that I should not have purchased a robot that climbs the wall for a vinyl above ground pool.I would only use this cleaner on a round pool. I spent $300 for this cleaner, $300 for a liner and another $300 to have it installed. Robot id up for sale if anyone wants it. VERY disappointed.

This could go down to one star or up to 5 stars depending on how customer service responds to my email. Purchased this one May 2017, by August 2018 it’s dead. My 1st one lasted me 5 years which I was fine with h for the price. Let’s see... I’ll keep you posted!!!

I have owned 3 of these now starting with the NC22 that preceded the 4i pool cleaner. They work great for about two years and then die which is why I bought the extended warranty through Amazon this time. The first 4i I received two weeks ago did not work right at all, however the replacement Amazon sent me works great like the last two I had owned. Amazon customer service was great as always and sent a replacement fast. I recommend this pool cleaner but be advised it only lasts two seasons. I use it in a salt water pool.

I was worried because a few of the reviews said it did not cover their whole pool and mine is 33ft round but I ordered it anyway, covers the whole pool no problem. I went four days without a cleaner waiting for the new one to arrive so you can imagine my pool was a hot mess. Two cleaning cycles later it is spotless. I will come back at end of season to repost progress but so far love it. Cleans so much better then my old aquabot.

This is my second pool cleaner of the same type used to clean a 20x40 foot in-ground pool.The first cleaner was a Kleen Machine from Costco. It was in use for a year or more and then just would not start. I called the manufacturer to see if it could be repaired. The manufacturer support is actually an on-line retail site. They provided no support but rather recommended I purchase this Smart Pool 4i replacement. It's the same cleaner as far as I can tell, just a different name.The second cleaner, the Smart Pool 4i failed after two or more years of use. It is currently working erratically for a few minutes and then goes dormant, stops. I think the problem is with the program. Some times it won't start and on others, it starts, acts erratically, and stops after a few minutes. The fan appears to work on the occasions when it turns on. The drive works erratically, starting and stopping but erratically and then it stops, dormant, dead in the water.

I had originally written a post that this was a great product then it all started. About 2 months after I received it the wheel broke on it I submitted a claim to the company and they had me send it back on my dime I had to pay to send it to them. Secondly I had to call to make sure they received it which is very unprofessional then they couldn't send me a new one b/c it was on back order finally 2 months after I sent to the company I receive a new or refurbished one not really sure. 1 Month later not only did a wheel break off again but the clip for the plug broke as well. This product is junk as far as I am concerned do not purchase it. Find another brand that is better and doesn't fall apart.
