A Season of Life: Daily Journaling Practice for Emotional Wellness

Direct, Warm, Useful Diary/Journal Increases Wellbeing
What a beautifully helpful journall! It starts you off with warm, clear instructions and activities that lay the groundwork for the rest of the journal. This got me excited and invested, making me more likely to continue journaling. The only part that was somewhat irrelevant to me was very brief. Yudin splits self-care into emotional, physical, social, as well as spiritual activities. The spiritual activities included chanting or honoring the lunar cycle. I do two of the things listed under "spiritual", I do "meditate" and "walk in nature," but I felt those two activities could have just as easily been categorized as "emotional." People who practice such things as honoring the lunar cycle will find this bit of the book more useful, of course, so I understand why it was included! As for the larger portion of the book, the daily journaling practice, it is thoughtfully laid out in a science-backed way to improve your overall well-being. Writing ten things I'm grateful for in particular has increased my happiness so much so that I now look forward to doing it in the morning. I also occasionally enjoy reviewing pages once I've already filled them out. Having this insight into the happier aspects of so many days in my life is lovely and it makes me even more grateful to the people in my life when I remember what they've done for me. As a result, I strive even more than before to be the kindest version of myself. Since I started journaling, the increased happiness and self-reflection plus self-accountability have led me to draw, exercise, and meditate more. Whether you are a fan of Dr. Ana Yudin from her Youtube videos or you've never heard of her, this is a wonderful way to increase your feelings of happiness and instill a better understanding of yourself. Frankly, I now hope to continue re-purchasing and filling out this journal as long as I live.

Genuinely effective for happiness, contentment, purpose, emotional regulation, mood, etc etc
I think this is the first review I'm writing on something ever, let alone on Amazon.I wasn't paid or consulted to make this review- not even close. I don't know the author personally and have never had any contact with her.I am someone who has journaled in the past quite a bit- but mostly when something overwhelming was going on in my life and I needed to vent and work through my feelings. This book is something that helps me focus on the positives in life which is not something I have previously intentionally incorporated in a structured and consistent way.Using this journaling format is something I look forward to in the morning, it truly helps me start the day off on the right foot and makes me feel better about any stressful things that may be going on in my life. It helps me organize my goals and makes me more productive in a gentle way that feels pleasant and effortless. The second I heard Dr. Ana Yudin mention this book on her youtube channel, I knew I had to get it. She is one of the few "youtube psychologists" that I trust because of how honestly she goes about tackling psychological topics. She sticks to research-based information, making it clear what is fact, theory, or speculation. The mechanism of this book is impressively rooted in a plethora of undeniable research indicating that these practices can be revolutionary for a person's mental AND physical health. Dr. Yudin alluded to that fact when she initially mentioned coming out with this book, but upon doing some of my own research, I was honestly blown away by the evidence behind this topic.I think the lessons in this book are wildly overlooked- it's crazy to me how easy they actually are to implement, and how much of an impact they have.I genuinely think that if you were to use this book, it would do wonders for not just your mental state but for the trajectory of your life- that is unless you're always impossibly happy and grateful then this book is a massive waste of time as you should really be writing your own and telling us who ur dealer is.I'm excited to see where this book takes me and I'm genuinely grateful that I have it in my life :)

Game changer!💪
I’ve been using this lovely journal for two months now and I’ve already experienced an internal shift to a healthier me. I never practiced the habit of journaling before. I thought I might never pick up the practice, thinking it might involve more than I could manage to fit into my schedule. Dr. Ana’s daily prompts are very easy to use and inspire deeper reflection and the formation of good habits. I really love this journal! It has been well worth the time I’ve put aside each day to invest in it. I have experienced improvements in my life. Highly recommend!🤩

One-of-a-Kind and Psychologically Professional
Dr. Ana is incredibly well-versed in psychology and has been a great help to me through her psychological content. I am new to journalling, but have been interested in it for years now. What’s stopped me is that I could never tell if the journals I’ve considered in the past were truly coming from an informed psychological professional. After receiving my copy and reading through the pages up to the first daily entry, it is clear that this is a thorough and involved mental health journal. The design and layout are natural to follow. I am not surprised at how thoughtful Dr. Ana’s approach was, due to my familiarity with her other content. The 90 day approach and emotion tracking allows for me to have an overview of my mental health over the course of the perfect amount of time.Unique to this journal are its entries, format, and material, as well as the informational, emotional, and value-driven exercises. Dr. Ana conveys her messaging in an easy-to-digest format.Given all the above, A Season of Life is an effective mental health journal for me and I plan to use it daily to yield the most benefit.I recommend this book, whether you are undergoing a mental health challenge or hoping to reflect while going through life.

productivity must!
i’ve bought this journal in addition of the “growth journal” of the same author. It’s really nice to start the day opening this journal, and my productivity has drastically improved since i’ve been using it, it’s been two months now. and I will probably buy it again; if you are someone that cares about your mental health and is looking for some solutions, this can be useful and effective, since it’s also a tracker of your mood etc, it definetly makes you more aware. I strongly recommend it!

Very well structured journal template
Very straight forward and well structured. A lot of the journal revolves around focusing on planning and reflecting on the day to day positive aspects of how you're feeling, the day to day lessons you've learnt, and the smaller day to day goals in life, which should all help w/ achieving the bigger goals you've set for the end of the 90 days(about a season) you'll be using this journal. Will make an edit for my final thoughts when I finish with it.

Not For Me
I got this diary right around the time it came out. I was very excited, because I have huge respect for Ana Yudin's work. However, I tried to use it for many months and felt frustrated with its structure. Don't get me wrong, this is NOT a bad diary! It just isn't suitable for me and I will explain why, in case you have similar preferences to mine.First of all, I thought I would like the idea of starting the day and finishing the day with journaling, like the book suggests. However, I am not a morning person, so I tried to do it all in one sitting. Not ideal, but it was ok-ish.Secondly, I feel this journal tries to do too many things at the same time. In one day, you have to say what you are grateful for, set your goals for that day, what you will do for self-care, what values you are focusing on, and then debrief your day by answering 9 questions. That's a lot of different things. While it seems like they are all connected in some way and the introduction of the journal explains why that is, for me, it was very frustrating and even made me unhappy. I really liked the gratitude part and the debrief questions. However, I found myself constantly not achieving my goals and not doing everything I set out to do for self-care, which made me feel sad and disappointed. For me, I would prefer a book that only focuses on journaling and reflecting and has NOTHING to do with goal setting.Thirdly, the book has 3 pages that try to explain how to live a value-based life and help you explore what values you have. However, it left me more confused than when I started and I wish that section would have gotten even deeper into values and how to discover them. Maybe then I wouldn't feel frustrated every time I have to write the values I will try to live my life by every day.Lastly, I wasn't very happy with the design of the cover when I got the book. However, I am very pleased with its new edition, which has a nicer, more minimalistic cover. So well done, I love it now!So, if you're the kind of person who is looking for an all-in-one journal that you can go to in the morning AND evening to explore yourself, practice gratitude, set goals and focus on living a life according to your values, this is the book for you! However, if you're looking for a journaling book for reflection and exploration, this book might be a bit too frustrating for you. Personally, I will keep all the pages I wrote so far (I got to page 65) as a memory, but I don't think I'll ever finish this journal. It's just not for me.
